<h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> <p><b><u>JOB PURPOSE:</u></b></p><p>The Senior Planning &amp; Monitoring Engineer is responsible for the complete project planning &amp; monitoring activities in coordination with the project management team &amp; functional managers, including performing Delay Analysis as dictated by the relevant contracts.</p><p><br></p><p>The person performing this role has to possess thorough knowledge &amp; experience in the entire life cycle of projects from initiation till close-out. </p><p><br></p><p><b><u>DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES:</u></b></p><ul><li>Prepare Project Baseline Schedules, Project Costs, Resource allocation, client coordination and sub-contractor follow-up.</li><li>Establish project Work Break-down Structure (WBS), Project Control Strategy, Master Schedule and Action Plan for planning deliverables issuance.</li><li>Project Controls coordination in all phases of the project life cycle such as engineering, procurement, installation, Testing and commissioning.</li><li>Demonstrate strong project fundamentals and work processes (cost/schedule tracking, change management, risk identification, options analysis).</li><li>Follow up the projects progress and highlight to the HOD (Engineering) the reasons of delay and the required mitigation plans.</li><li>Prepare and review the daily, weekly and monthly progress reports for internal &amp; external reporting.</li><li>Prepare and maintain organization process assets such as project controls/management plans, procedures and tools.</li><li>Utilize project planning and monitoring tools effectively to ensure compliance with project timelines, budgets and quality standards.</li><li>Prepare Invoice back-ups, as applicable.</li><li>Handle correspondences, particularly claims, with different authorities and stakeholders, and prepare all reports related to delay analysis.</li><li>Progress Measurements &amp; support the finance team for invoice preparation &amp; submission.</li><li>Prepare &amp; maintain material control list.</li><li>Prepare EOT &amp; review the sub-contractor’s EOT.</li><li>Records costs in EBS in coordination with the Commercial team.</li><li>Supervise and mentor subordinate staff, ensuring the accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of all project deliverables.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b><u>QUALIFICATIONS &amp; EXPERIENCE:</u></b></p><p><br></p><p><b>Educational Qualification:</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s or a master’s degree in electrical, mechanical or civil engineering.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Experience:</b></p><ul><li>A minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience as a Senior Planning and Monitoring Engineer in handling 400 kV GIS projects from the energy &amp; power industry in the GCC/UAE.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Certifications:</b></p><ul><li>Expertise in: Project Scheduling &amp; Primavera P6 – PMP Certification, EPC Project Management, Power BI, PMI-PMP, Oracle and MS Projects.</li></ul> </div><h2 class="h5">Skills</h2> <div data-jb-field="skills"><p><b><u>SKILLS &amp; KNOWLEDGE:</u></b></p><ul><li>Exceptional knowledge in Cost control management, Project risk assessment management, Contract management, Interface Coordination, and conflict resolution.</li><li>Leadership, team building, communication, critical thinking, decision-making, problem solving skills are mandatory.</li><li>Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to present complex, technical information to a wide audience.</li><li>High competence in technical writing, systems development and utilization.</li></ul></div>

<p>Role Purpose The Community Coordinator supports the day-to-day administration and operations of the community management team, ensuring effective communication with residents, service providers, and internal departments. <p>Trading & Deal Execution</p><ul><li><p>Originate, negotiate, and close purchase and sale contracts for calcined limestone, quicklime, and hydrated lime, quoting on FOB/CFR/CIF terms as appropriate.</p></li><li><p>Structure deal terms including pricing mechanisms, payment terms, quality specifications, and delivery windows.</p></li><li><p>Manage a live trading book with real-time visibility into open positions, shipment status, and exposure.</p></li></ul><p>Supplier & Buyer Relationship Management</p><ul><li><p>Identify, vet, and onboard quarry operators and kiln producers as new supply sources; maintain and deepen existing supplier relationships.</p></li><li><p>Build a buyer network across steel mills, cement plants, glass manufacturers, sugar refineries, and water-treatment operators.</p></li><li><p>Represent Avighna at industry trade fairs, mining/minerals conferences, and buyer/supplier site visits (periodic regional travel expected).</p></li></ul><p>Quality, Logistics & Operations</p><ul><li><p>Define and enforce quality specifications (CaO content, LOI, granulometry, reactivity/slaking rate) in contracts and coordinate third-party inspection (SGS, Bureau Veritas, or similar) at load and discharge ports.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate vessel/break-bulk bookings with freight forwarders and shipping lines; track laycan, loading, and discharge schedules.</p></li><li><p>Resolve quality claims, demurrage disputes, and delivery delays in coordination with legal/operations as needed.</p></li></ul><p>Risk, Trade Finance & Compliance</p><ul><li><p>Structure and manage letters of credit, CAD terms, and other trade finance instruments; coordinate with banks and the finance team on documentation.</p></li><li><p>Assess and monitor counterparty credit risk, country risk, and sanctions/compliance screening on all new trading partners.</p></li><li><p>Maintain accurate contract, shipment, and P&L records for internal reporting and audit purposes.</p></li></ul><p>Market Intelligence & Reporting</p><ul><li><p>Track regional steel-sector flux demand, cement production cycles, freight rates, and competitor pricing to inform trading strategy.</p></li><li><p>Provide regular market updates and forecasts to management; contribute to budgeting and volume-planning discussions.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p>Qualifications & Experience</p><ul><li><p>3–5 years of experience trading limestone, lime, or related industrial minerals (or adjacent bulk commodities such as cement, aggregates, gypsum, or ores).</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated track record of managing a trading book with P&L accountability, or substantial supporting experience on a trading desk.</p></li><li><p>Working knowledge of lime/limestone quality specifications and their end-use requirements.</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with bulk shipping (Handysize/Supramax), Incoterms, and standard trade finance instruments.</p></li><li><p>Existing network of contacts among quarry operators, kiln producers, freight forwarders, or industrial buyers in target markets is a strong plus.</p></li><li><p>Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, mining/geology, or a related field preferred; equivalent trading experience will be considered in lieu.</p></li><li><p>Willingness to travel regionally (site visits, port inspections, trade events) — estimated 15–25% travel.</p></li></ul>

<ol type="1"><li>Review the submitted programs from the contractors and give comments/consent.</li><li>Review the submitted update weekly progress reports and give comments/consent.</li><li>Monitor the progress and give advice to the contractor for the required corrective actions-if required.</li><li>Review the submitted claim from the contractors for EOT and give comments/consent and recommendations.</li><li>Daily Progress Reports: you will need to update the information about the progress of activities at site. A section will be used for manpower and is dedicated for material.</li><li>Weekly and Monthly Progress Reports: you will need to monitor the percentages completed (Actual vs Planned) in addition to any Issues the Contractor has still unanswered.</li><li>Site Visits: This is the only way you can monitor the activities and have a visual idea about what is ongoing at site.</li><li>Progress, Coordination, Special, Upper Management Meetings: You will need to keep your eyes focused on three items a. Scope b. Time c. Money Any issue that changes the contractually agreed upon data you need client approval at the earliest.</li><li>Read and understand Contract Documents; Specifications, drawings, and BOQs</li><li>Review the Approved Program of Works as often as possible.</li><li>Keep your eyes on the Long Lead items. Usually, a program of works is divided into five sections. a. Material submittals. b. Shop drawings. c. Procurement d. Construction e. Commissioning and Handing Over. You will need to monitor these processes in sequence</li><li>Attend the kick off meeting.</li><li>Participate in the Planning efforts for the project.</li><li>Do the complete reporting to the client; daily, weekly and monthly.</li><li>Highlight the weaknesses at site.</li><li>Verify all the submitted reports by the Contractors</li><li>Maintain a Master Schedule for the client.</li><li>Prepare presentations</li><li>Include all changes to the scope and variation work requested by the Client or the Contractor.</li><li>Participate in the closing out of the project.</li></ol><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor&#x27;s degree in Engineering or a related field.</li><li>Professional certification in Project Management (PMP) or equivalent.</li><li>10- 15 years of experience in project planning and execution in consultant company.</li><li>Experience in the Construction industry is preferred.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy.</li><li>Self-motivated and able to work independently.</li><li>Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.</li></ul>
