<br> Job Purpose <br><p>Manage, supervise and control the development and implementation of a diverse range of major Multi-disciplined engineering projects from initial inception through to completion and handover, relating to new plants, facilities and modifications to existing plant and systems. Performs supervisory functions and exercises financial authority at the level established by management for the position.<br>• Review a variety of source material and participate in a range of meetings to establish future project requirements in the assigned field. Provides basic technical and administrative input to take projects from initial inception stage to drafting and submission of requirements proposals. Includes defining, revising and refining scopes and objectives, obtaining or arranging to obtain background data on potential cost and technical feasibility, and advising alternatives where appropriate. <br>• Participate in the refinement of initial proposals into coherent viable project plans. Directs and participates in the revision and refinement of initial project designs, specifications, costs, and phasing preparation of project strategy in conjunction with user department and other divisions such Finance, Commercial Support, etc.<br>• Initiate and approve the preparation of overall work programs, terms of reference for contractors, projects standards and working procedures. Establishes the basis for project execution phase.<br>• Ensure that all projects are implemented in accordance with sound project management principles and established Company procedures and standards. Initiates/manages pre-qualification of bidders list, exercises overall control over the budget and cost of the project and each contract, vetting authorization for expenditure. Reviews and endorses contract purchase and subcontracts recommendations and variation orders throughout all phases of the project and ensures that approved plans are updated accordingly.<br>• Ensure the preparation of the Department’s safety program on the project and oversees compliance with the Company’s safety rules and regulations. Evaluates and audits adherence to same and takes necessary remedial measures to correct and overcome deficiencies.</p><br><br><br>Job Specific Accountabilities2 <br><p>• Ensure that the project is executed in a safe manner and that all contractors adhere to approved safety procedures and method statements for carrying out works / contracts awarded.<br>• Advise Management of anticipated completion date of the project for subsequent start up planning. Assist in development of start-up plan and manning requirements. Authorizes alternate studies such as shop vs. field fabricated pipe, concrete vs. Steel structures etc. and agree in consultation on completion of portions of the plant for acceptance by end user.<br>• Coordinate overall financial matters pertaining to the project, such as currency requirements and restrictions, import duty exceptions, financial forecasts, etc.<br>• Carry out other similar related duties such as attending Tender Board Meetings, reporting on the financial situation of the project. Appraises contractor’s overall performance for quality, cost, schedule and safety and ensures corrective actions are taken. Prepares weekly highlights and monthly progress reports covering all engineering, procurement and construction activities.<br>• Accountable for efficiently managing all projects within budgets and in accordance with Company policies, directives, engineering and project management standards. In coordination with the USA PM Leadership, be responsible for the cost and schedule performance and risk management for the Emirates Programs. Coordinates with internal Thales organizations, to communicate customer requirements and execute the program with technical accuracy, consistency and profitability as well as managing the communications and relations with customer/s.</p><br><p><b>Key Areas of Responsibility </b></p><br><ul><li>As the local PM, support the PM Directors in meeting on a regular (daily preferred – at least once per week) with key Emirates representatives at the Emirates Offices or hosting Emirates within DD and clearly communicate key messages from Emirates to Thales teammates (PM team in the USA, AGS (USA and Dubai) and Sales Team (Dubai).</li><li>As the local PM, represents the USA PM Team by attending (in person as needed) Dubai morning meetings and passing key information and actions back to the USA PM and Engineering teammates.</li><li>As the local PM, represents the USA PM Team by attending the In-Service performance reviews at Emirates along with AGS teammates and being the PM focal for in-service issues while keeping USA Teammates well informed and secured USA support as required.</li><li>Lead the DD Team to ensure they have defined work scope with clear deliverables in accordance with Customer and Program requirements and milestone objectives for both H/W and S/W topics . . . as required local DD labs, Irvine HW and SW development activities.</li><li>Support the bid process for Sales and Bid Management, by developing Program Management bid inputs, identifying risks and coordinating technical responses.</li><li>Participate in the handover meeting from Sales and Bid Management to Program Management.</li><li>Coordinate with the functional managers to identify and establish a cross-functional program team in accordance with the established Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).</li><li>Develop the program Bill of Materials (BOM). Risk management is a key role of a program manager inclusive of documentation in accordance with the current risk management tracking tools.</li><li>Routinely assess program financial profit and loss data for the assigned program. Monitor non-recurring cost expenditures to ensure alignment with program budgets and spending plan. Manage budget changes, monitor actual expenditures and estimate financials at program completion as well as the work remaining to complete the program. Coordinate closely with finance.</li><li>Correspond directly with the external airline customer, aircraft manufacturer and seat supplier as directed and approved by the supervising Program Manager. Ensure all correspondence is high quality, accurate and timely and respects the intellectual property agreements in place.</li><li>Prepare for, and participate in, program milestone meetings such as Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), First Article Inspections (FAIs), Program Management Reviews (PMRs) and other applicable meetings.</li><li>Assist the Finance Department in receipt of Purchase Orders (POs) from airline customers and aircraft manufacturers. <h4>What you'll be doing</h4>
<p>At Chalhoub, we share leading brands with the world. As a category manager you will be responsible for defining and driving the “offer” and purchasing strategy for different products categories and brands. You will also define the action plan for the categories, merchandising, promotional activities, prices and negotiations.</p>

<li>Develop the business plan of the department in line with the strategic objectives of the brand</li>
<li>Formulate and communicate the department performance objectives and continuously monitor progress and alignment towards strategic objectives</li>
<li>Develop the department policies and procedures in order to ensure the fulfilment of organizational requirements</li>
<li>Oversee the operations of the department, provide expertise, encourage teamwork and facilitate related professional work processes in order to achieve high-performance standards and staff pride in contribution</li>
<li>Monitor the yearly budget of the department and control expenditure to ensure optimal use</li>
<li>Define the offer strategy for the stores in the designated area in alignment with the brand’s values</li>
<li>Validate the strategy with the GM/Captain</li>
<li>Negotiate annual commercial agreements and the commercialization of advertising spaces with the brands</li>
<li>Drive the development of the margin and the budgetary objectives</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Category performance management:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Benchmark current performance vs. the competition and the peer market</li>
<li>Create different tools to improve the categories’ performance</li>
<li>Manage segmentation, seasonal activities, action plans for the stores; follow up on the results</li>
<li>Manage the existing catalogue, optimizing on the mix at the points of sale</li>
<li>Identify the products with potential and research new products</li>
<li>Develop a wide range of services (skincare – make up – lessons – etc.) to be adapted to each category</li>
<li>Prepare the periodic category reviews</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Supplier relations:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Create partnerships with the brands and follow up on the results</li>
<li>Handle the negotiations with existing and potential partners</li>
<li>Optimize the merchandising plan and the allocation of space vs. the volume of margin</li>
<li>Develop new merchandising aids, tools, and new concepts</li>
<li>Coordinate new openings (brands/merchandising/promotions) or refitting of sales areas</li>
<li>Register newly imported brands to the market, in compliance with the regulations of each country</li>
<li>Benchmark current pricing vs. the competition and the peer market</li>
<li>Recommend adjustments on the pricing policy to the GM/Captain</li>
<li>Handle the production of the annual calendar for the brands promotions, launches, etc.</li>
<li>Assess the requirements and coordinate with relevant internal/external stakeholders (Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Suppliers, Category Managers and Logistics)</li>
<li>Negotiate with suppliers for the stock returns (discontinued and slow movers)</li>
<li>Assign individual objectives for employee performance management purposes, manage performance, empower staff, and provide formal and informal feedback in order to support professional development and maximize performance</li>

<h4>What you'll be doing</h4>
<p>The Merchandise Planner is responsible for supporting the commercial success of Tryano’s Women’s and Men’s categories through effective merchandise planning, managing OTB, forecasting, inventory management, and performance analysis. The role partners closely with Buying, Finance, Logistics, RSO, and brand suppliers to ensure optimal stock levels, maximize profitability, and deliver a seamless customer experience. They will also support key transformation initiatives within the Merchandise Planning function, including planning system enhancements and Target Operating Model implementation projects.</p>
<h4>Key responsibilities</h4>
<ul>
<li>Develop sales, stock, margin, OTB and inventory plans (MSSI) for the women's and men's categories, ensuring alignment with business objectives.</li>
<li>Support budgeting and forecasting activities, identifying risks and opportunities to drive commercial performance.</li>
<li>Monitor sales performance, inventory productivity, and replenishment requirements, providing recommendations to optimize stock levels and profitability.</li>
<li>Partner closely with the Buying team to align assortment, purchasing, and inventory strategies.</li>
<li>Define and execute pricing, promotional, markdown, and clearance strategies to effectively manage inventory and maximize returns.</li>
<li>Coordinate with Logistics and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely product deliveries and stock availability.</li>
<li>Build and maintain effective relationships with brands, suppliers, and key internal stakeholders across Finance, Store Operations, and Buying.</li>
<li>Prepare and present trading, inventory, and performance analyses to support commercial decision-making.</li>
<li>Support the delivery of Merchandise Planning transformation initiatives, including planning system enhancements and Target Operating Model projects.</li>
<li>Provide guidance and support to the Senior Coordinator – Order Management to ensure effective execution of planning and order management activities.</li>
</ul>
<h4>What you’ll need to succeed</h4>
<ul>
<li>3–5 years of experience in Merchandise Planning, Merchandise Financial Planning, or a similar commercial planning role.</li>
<li>Previous experience within fashion retail is preferred, ideally across multiple categories; beauty retail experience will also be considered where strong merchandise planning expertise is demonstrated.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of merchandise planning principles, including forecasting, budgeting, inventory management, replenishment, markdown optimization, and performance analysis.</li>
<li>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and financial modelling.</li>
<li>Experience using Blue Yonder or other Merchandise Financial Planning systems.</li>
<li>Exposure to retail transformation initiatives, planning system implementations, or process improvement projects is an advantage.</li>
<li>Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations.</li>
<li>Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.</li>
