The Estimator plays a key role in competitive bidding, cost control, and project planning.<br>Key Responsibilities:<br>Estimate Preparation:Prepare detailed cost estimates for new ship construction projects, including hull, outfitting, machinery, painting, accommodation, and commissioning phases.<br>Drawing & Specification Review:Analyze general arrangement drawings, technical specifications, classification requirements, and customer documents to define project scope.<br>Material Take-offs:Perform quantity take-offs and material assessments from 2D/3D design packages.<br>Vendor & Subcontractor Liaison:Obtain and evaluate quotations from vendors and subcontractors for key systems such as propulsion, HVAC, and electrical systems.<br>Labor Costing:Calculate man-hours based on standard productivity rates and shipyard historical data across various trades (hull, piping, electrical, etc.).<br>Pricing Strategy:Collaborate with the commercial team to define pricing strategy, contingency allowances, and profit margins.<br>Project Risk Identification:Assess risks and uncertainties in the estimate and propose appropriate mitigation measures or contingency budgets.<br>Cost Database Management:Maintain up-to-date records of material costs, labor rates, and productivity metrics from past projects.<br>Bid Preparation:Support the preparation of technical and commercial proposals for clients.<br>Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related field.5+ years of estimating experience in a shipyard or marine engineering environment. Strong understanding of ship construction processes, materials, and regulatory requirements (IMO, SOLAS, Class rules). Familiarity with shipbuilding estimating software and tools (e.g., Auto CAD, Ship Constructor, Excel, ERP systems). Good analytical and cost modelling skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with engineering, procurement, and production teams.

<p>We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Estimator to join our marine team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As the  Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our organisation by preparing accurate cost estimates for infrastructure and marine construction projects, analyzing data, contributing to the overall success of our bidding process, and coaching junior staffs. • Develop comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects of varying sizes and complexities • Analyse blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates • Expert in CCS Candy • Consult with clients, vendors, and personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues • Prepare and maintain a database of previous bids and current cost information • Conduct quantity takeoffs and develop detailed cost breakdowns • Identify potential risks and opportunities within project estimates • Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure estimate accuracy and completeness • Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and new estimating techniques • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as required • Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations</p><p>• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction marine estimating works • Proficiency in estimating software such as CCS Candy, or similar tools • Marine related work experience is mandatory • Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards</p>
