<h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> Engineering &amp; Design Coordination<p>Ensure all engineering changes are communicated to the site team and incorporated into construction.</p><br><p>Coordinate vendor drawings, equipment dimensions, cable entry requirements, and installation details.</p><br><p>Raise RFIs, technical queries, and site change requests where required.</p><br><p>Identify design discrepancies, constructability issues, and site constraints.</p><br><p>Ensure construction is based on the latest approved drawings and revisions.</p><br><p>Review electrical IFC drawings, SLDs, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, layouts, and equipment foundation requirements.</p><br><p>Coordinate with the Electrical Engineering, Civil, Structural, and Mechanical teams.</p><br><span>Project Planning &amp; Construction Management</span><p>Ensure construction activities are executed as per the approved method statements and project procedures.</p><br><p>Identify construction risks, delays, and constraints, and implement recovery plans.</p><br><p>Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly construction progress against the approved baseline schedule.</p><br><p>Plan and coordinate construction activities for the substation, including HV, MV, LV, protection, control, and auxiliary systems.</p><br><p>Prepare construction schedules, manpower plans, equipment requirements, and material forecasts.</p><br><p>Review project scope, contract requirements, specifications, and approved construction drawings.</p><br><p>Develop and implement the electrical construction execution plan.</p><br><span>Client, Consultant &amp; Stakeholder Coordination</span><p>Coordinate with vendors and specialist subcontractors for equipment installation and technical support.</p><br><p>Obtain necessary inspections, approvals, and clearances for electrical activities.</p><br><p>Present electrical construction progress, key achievements, risks, and recovery actions.</p><br><p>Attend weekly progress meetings, technical meetings, and construction coordination meetings.</p><br><p>Coordinate with the client, consultant, PMC, utility authority, and main contractor.</p><br><p>Act as the primary electrical construction representative at site.</p><br><span>5. Quality Control &amp; Inspection</span><p>Review and ensure completion of punch lists and outstanding electrical works.</p><br><p>Ensure nonconformities (NCRs) are identified, corrected, and closed.</p><br><p>Verify proper equipment alignment, cable routing, termination, torqueing, labeling, and earthing.</p><br><p>Monitor installation quality, workmanship, and material compliance.</p><br><p>Ensure inspection requests (WIR/IR) are raised and approved before proceeding to subsequent activities.</p><br><p>Coordinate with QA/QC engineers to implement the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).</p><br><p>Ensure all electrical installations comply with approved drawings, project specifications, and applicable standards.</p><br><span>HSE – Health, Safety &amp; Environment</span><p>Coordinate with the HSE team for incident prevention and reporting.</p><br><p>Stop unsafe work and take corrective action when required.</p><br><p>Ensure proper PPE, barricading, access control, and safe working clearances.</p><br><p>Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and regular site inspections.</p><br><p>Ensure safe work practices for HV equipment installation, cable works, lifting, and testing.</p><br><p>Enforce permit-to-work, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), and isolation procedures.</p><br><p>Implement electrical safety procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.</p><br><p>Ensure all electrical construction activities are performed safely.</p><br><span>7. Material &amp; Resource Management</span><p>Identify material shortages and initiate timely procurement or recovery actions.</p><br><p>Ensure proper storage, preservation, and handling of electrical equipment and materials.</p><br><p>Monitor productivity and optimize workforce utilization.</p><br><p>Plan manpower requirements, including supervisors, electricians, technicians, and subcontractors.</p><br><p>Verify materials against approved material submittals and equipment schedules.</p><br><p>Coordinate with procurement, logistics, warehouse, and vendors.</p><br><p>Ensure timely availability of electrical materials and equipment at site.</p><br><span>. Testing &amp; Commissioning Coordination</span><p>Support energization planning, switching procedures, and client handover requirements.</p><br><p>Ensure punch points and testing-related issues are resolved.</p><br><p>Coordinate relay testing, interlocking checks, functional checks, and SCADA signal verification.</p><br><p>Ensure test packs, inspection records, and calibration certificates are available.</p><br><p>Coordinate testing of transformers, switchgear, CTs, VTs, cables, batteries, earthing, and protection systems.</p><br><p>Ensure electrical installations are completed and ready for testing.</p><br><p>Coordinate with the Testing &amp; Commissioning Manager for pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.</p><br><span>Progress Monitoring &amp; Reporting</span><p>Implement corrective and preventive actions to achieve project milestones.</p><br><p>Escalate critical issues to project management.</p><br><p>Maintain progress dashboards, manpower reports, and productivity records.</p><br><p>Track key construction milestones such as:</p><br><p>Equipment installation completion.</p><br><p>Cable laying and termination.</p><br><p>Earthing completion.</p><br><p>Panel installation.</p><br><p>Pre-commissioning readiness.</p><br><p>Energization readiness.</p><br><p>Monitor planned versus actual progress and identify delays.</p><br><p>Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly electrical construction reports.</p><br><span>0. Documentation &amp; Handover</span><p>Ensure the project meets client and authority requirements for final acceptance.</p><br><p>Support preparation of final handover dossiers and completion certificates.</p><br><p>Ensure electrical punch lists are closed before handover.</p><br><p>Coordinate operation and maintenance manuals, warranties, and vendor documents.</p><br><p>Ensure test reports, inspection records, material certificates, and equipment documentation are compiled.</p><br><p>Coordinate as-built drawings and redline markups.</p><br><p>Ensure construction records are properly maintained.</p><br> </div>
