<br><br>Job Purpose <br><p>This role acts as the Technical Advisor and Subject Matter Expert on Electrical systems for the entire plant. The role ensures the application of engineering and technology skills, as well as offering expertise in the development and support of Electrical systems, processes and change requests for the Operations and Maintenance Departments.<br>
To manage the design and execution of electrical engineering projects. Responsible for carrying out design simulation using design tools, for example ETAP/EDSA and developing a engineering packages on the basis of equipment load list and project requirements. Provide technical expertise to maintenance team for recurring problems in Electrical systems.</p><br>
<br><br>Principal Accountabilities <br><p>Leads the development of plans and implements capital projects relating to electrical systems for process improvements and plant expansions Provides expertise in design, installation & commissioning of Electrical systems.<br>
Manages production of design documents relating to electrical engineering for: FEED, Detailed engineering and PMC packages.<br>
Manages development of Electrical Design of substation i.e. FEED and detailed Engineering documents from PDP/Load List including Expertise over equipment Sizing calculations for Transformers ,<br>
Switchgears , Circuit Breakers , UPS , Battery Chargers , Cables etc. Manages installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of all HV/LV Electrical equipment, pumps, compressors etc in a multidisciplinary environment.<br>
Offers expertise in Relay coordination and Protection calculations.<br>
Offers expertise in the use of industry renowned Electrical design software (ETAP & EDSA) and is conversant with industry codes & standards(1EEE , IEC).<br>
Offers expertise in design and execution of cathodic protection system, has capability to carry out the design calculation of DWGB , TRU of CP s stems.<br>
For any project requirements/retrofit jobs/modification, prepares scope of work for an outside consultant/contractor, which for example covers: Technical standards/specification and datasheets Equipment sizing calculation, layouts etc.<br>
Prepare purchase requisitions<br>
Undertake technical evaluation, and finalization of consultant/contractor<br>
Review the design documentation<br>
Execution of the project/assignment in field i.e. installation and commissioning.<br>
Prepare inspection plans, monitor inspection reports, identify when a project moves out of the norm and take appropriate remedial action Prepare method statements for work to be undertaken as required Coordinate with other concerned Departments to ensure the work on site is carried out as per required.<br>
Supervise work of outside contractors/inhouse personnel as required. Ensure sufficient rescources to a project to ensure safe and on time execution of the project<br>
To assist Maintenance Department, prepares detailed Overhauling and preventive maintenance scope of work for retrofit of equipment such as existing Transformers, HV and LV Switchgear.<br>
Carrying out root cause analysis for re-curring electrical problems.<br>
Familiary with reliability studies (Life cycle cost, TPM etc.). Familiar with latest state of art switchgear relays complying to IEC 61850, as well as obsolete Electromechnical relays (GEC make).<br>

Responds to any plant breakdown, shutdown, or equipment failure at all times to ensure operational continuity.<br>
Procurement<br>
Orders material for Capex requirements. Expedites to ensure on time delivery.<br>
Ensures ordered materials delivered to site are in accordance to the purchase order.<br>
HSE<br>
Operates in accordance with the requirements of the Safety, Health and Environment Policy.<br>
Ensures DUGAS EHS policies/requirements are adhered to by DUGAS employees and Contractors undertaking projects.<br>
