Maintains personal fitness, water confidence, breath-hold ability, and physical readiness to perform assigned duties. </li><li> Reports illness, injury, fatigue, equalization concerns, respiratory concerns, discomfort, or any fitness-to-dive concern before in-water activity. </li><li> Follows all safety procedures and emergency protocols as instructed by Dive Operations, the Dive Safety Officer, Dive Supervisor, Head Mermaid, Senior Mermaid, or management. </li><li> Understands that Mermaid Safety coverage is assigned separately by Dive Operations, but all Mermaids are responsible for reporting safety concerns immediately. </li><li> Reports any unsafe condition, unsafe behavior, equipment concern, water quality concern, support concern, or operational concern immediately through the proper channel. </li><li> Maintains required logs, records, training documentation, show notes, or assigned operational documentation as required. </li><li> Maintains a safe, secure, clean, and healthy working environment for colleagues, guests, animals, and partner departments. </li><li> Maintains professionalism when working in close proximity to animals, guests, Marine requested by management and based on the needs of the business. <br><br></li></ul><strong>About You<br><br></strong><ul><li> 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in Mermaid performance, aquatic performance, guest entertainment, synchronized swimming, freediving, diving, dance, theatre, character performance, or comparable guest-facing experience preferred. </li><li> Certified freediver with a recognized freediving certification, recognized Mermaid certification, or willingness and ability to complete required Mermaid/freediving training as directed by the business. </li><li> Must successfully complete annual departmental swim test. </li><li> Must have the ability to hold breath underwater for extended periods in line with operational and safety requirements. </li><li> Previous experience in aquatic performance, synchronized swimming, diving, dance, theatre, guest entertainment, or character performance preferred. </li><li> Comfortable performing in front of large crowds and engaging with children and adults. </li><li> Ability to swim and perform underwater for extended periods in varying water temperatures and aquarium conditions. </li><li> Endurance for repetitive movements, multiple shows, costume use, and extended periods in Mermaid tail or performance costume. </li><li> Must pass annual dive medical or required fitness assessment. </li><li> Ability to lift, carry, rinse, move, dry, and store costume elements or equipment up to operationally required limits. </li><li> Ability to wear and swim in a monofin or Mermaid tail for extended periods. </li><li> CPR, First Aid, and lifeguard certification preferred, or willingness to obtain if required. </li><li> Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, evenings, private events, and special
