<b>Job Description</b>Overview<p>We are currently looking for a Planning Manager to be part of team based in Abu Dhabi.</p><br>Your role<ul><li>Ability to develop initial baseline schedules with little project information. This requires previous experience is hospitality / mix use development projects.</li><li>Assist in the preparation and management of overview and strategic programmes, including design, procurement and construction schedules together with supporting information required schedules.</li><li>Include all project stages from initiations to completion in the baseline and identify stage gates accordingly.</li><li>Coordinate and manage the preparation and development of master planning, engineering, procurement, and construction schedules together with associated information required schedules.</li><li>Establish and agree project reporting procedures, prepare and present monthly project progress. Develop project and programme dashboard templates to be used across the programme by designer and contractors.</li><li>Review the schedules and related documents from the designers and contractors including monthly reports and analyse the content to ensure compliance with project objectives.</li><li>Review schedule trends to identify problem areas and recommend corrective action to management. Monitor actual progress against planned progress.</li><li>Monitor engineering design progress, material and equipment procurement and construction and commissioning status.</li><li>Prepare progress monitoring tools using earned value for the management and monitoring of the above mentioned schedules. Monitor progress both on and off site. Identify deviations (progress trends) in both construction and procurement progress and suggest possible courses of corrective action.</li><li>Working closely with the Project Controls Manager and Project Team to ensure that the ‘programme’ is feasible, complies with the Project Master Plan and contractual documents</li><li>Interface on a daily basis with the designers, PMCs, main contractor sub contractors and internal management.</li><li>Carry out studies into scheduling, manpower, cash flow, and material flow as needed</li><li>Attend offsite meetings as requested by the client.</li><li>Review schedules for slippage of key dates.</li><li>Assist in the defence / approval of any claim for time extension or major change to the schedule.</li><li>Other duties as requested from time to time.</li><li>Ensuring that each Planning Engineer runs his or her section to the highest professional standards, that all information is current, and that every member of the team is receiving the information he or she needs to fulfil their responsibilities.</li><li>Establish and maintain consistent and adequate administration procedures, in their field. <p>Prepare in co-ordination with the Site team and the Planning manager a detailed Project Construction Schedule including cost, resources, milestones, procurement and authority connections to obtain consultant’s approval.
Review and continuously monitor, against approved schedules, the construction progress and report to the Project Manager/Planning Manager.
Prepare revised recovery program when the program of work is substantially behind approved construction schedule.
Submit within one month of project start manpower chart , schedule of materials and equipment schedule.
Prepare Project Mobilization Schedule/Check List in accordance with the steps out-lined in project mobilization procedures in coordination with Planning Manager/Project Manager.
Prepare, review and approve the subcontractor’s program in line with the requirements of the baseline program and the contract.
Monitor the progress against the approved project construction schedule and alert the site management and the top management of any impediments that has the potential to jeopardize the milestone targets.
Prepare detailed monthly reports to the consultant including detailed status reports on progress, technical submissions, commercial aspects, progress photographs and HSE statistics.
Prepare internal construction schedule and ensure its progress implementation.
Advise the site team of any potential delays for the project and participate in implementing the corrective action to avert the situation.
Follow-up closely the material deliveries for the project and ensure timely deliveries for on-time completion of the project and report findings in weekly internal progress meeting.
Ensure that the kick-off meeting with the subcontractor is conducted within 7 days after the issuance of Letter of Intent.
Prepare project correspondences for the project in liaison with the project manager to notify the client/consultant/subcontractor about the delays and its potential impacts.
Generate technical submission & material procurement logs in liaison with the technical department and closely monitor the technical submissions and procurement including subcontractor submissions and highlight to PM&PLM any anticipated delay.
Attend all meetings with the consultant, client and subcontractors to discuss site progress, progress of technical submissions and other pending critical issues. Prepare agenda for subcontractor kick-off meetings.
Monitor the productivity scales of the different trades and reporting to the site management & Planning Manager periodically of any shortfalls in the desired productivity scales.
Prepare Project Close-Out Schedule; Verify with Planning Manager & Project Manager and issue the same to site team 3 months prior to project substantial completion date.

Acting as the principal liaison between engineering, operational staff, and maintenance teams, the O&M Specialist ensures that system acquisitions and upgrades are designed and delivered for efficient, safe, and sustainable long-term operation</span></p><br><br>
Missions/Main Duties
<br><ul><li><span>Review and evaluate new rolling stock and system enhancement proposals from O&M perspectives, ensuring alignment with operational standards, service schedules, and safety protocols.</span></li><li><span>Contribute to the life cycle analysis of assets to optimize uptime, reliability, and maintainability.</span></li><li><span>Provide operations and maintenance requirements for procurement specifications and technical documents.</span></li><li><span>Review vendor submissions and participate in design reviews, emphasizing maintainability, ease of operation, and integration with existing practices.</span></li><li><span>Develop and refine maintenance concepts and regimes for new and upgraded assets (rolling stock and systems) in line with industry best practices and the organization’s operational model.</span></li><li><span>Identify and articulate operational and maintenance risks, and propose effective mitigation strategies.</span></li><li><span>Support the definition and execution of acceptance, testing, and commissioning plans.</span></li><li><span>Participate in the review and acceptance of O&M documentation, training materials, and other handover deliverables.</span></li><li><span>Act as a technical interface between engineering, procurement, and operational departments, ensuring a smooth transition from project stages to steady-state operation.</span></li><li><span>Facilitate knowledge transfer and capability building for operational and maintenance teams.</span></li><li><span>Contribute to the ongoing optimization of O&M processes as new systems and technologies are introduced.</span></li><li><span>Participate in post-implementation reviews to extract lessons learned and inform future procurement and enhancement initiatives.</span></li></ul>
Profile/Skills
<br><ul><li><span>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related</span></li><li>Minimum 10 years’ experience of relevant experience in similar rail projects</li><li>Proven experience in railway or metro operations and maintenance, preferably with exposure to rolling stock and systems projects.</li><li>In-depth understanding of railway O&M principles, asset management, and system integration.</li><li>Capable of developing/documenting O&M concepts, workflows, and risk assessments.</li><li>Strong communicator and collaborator, able to bridge disciplines and secure buy-in from diverse teams.</li><li>Analytical thinker, solution-driven, and attentive to safety and compliance.</li><li><span>Preferably with UAE or GCC experience.</span></li></ul>
