<p><span>The Division of Social Science is inviting applications for an Assistant/ Associate Academic Specialist</span><span> (Open rank) </span><span>position. The assistant/associate academic</span><span>specialist</span><span>supports NYU Abu Dhabi's educational mission by assisting faculty with courses in the Social Sciences. Academic Specialist – equivalent to teaching assistants/fellows at other institutions – facilitate discussion sections, hold review sessions, provide assistance with the preparation, development, and assessment of courses, and take part in divisional activities. Participation in professional development opportunities, such as attending social science conferences, is expected and supported. The incumbent will primarily support quantitatively-oriented courses in our Business, Organizations, and Society (BOS) and Economics programs.</span></p><br><br>

<p><span>We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager - Automation with a minimum of 10–12 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, control systems, and electrical troubleshooting. The role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, improving, and supporting automation systems related to water rides, attractions, Animal Life Support Systems (ALSS), and associated facility infrastructure. </span><span>The successful candidate should have strong practical experience in PLC systems, industrial communication networks, VFDs, electrical control systems, commissioning support, preventive maintenance, and reliability improvement. The role also requires ownership of technical documentation, control system integrity, OEM coordination, critical spares, compliance support, and team competency development. </span></p><br>

Job Summary We are seeking a qualified Electrical Inspector to join our Construction Supervision team for an infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting and monitoring electrical works to ensure compliance with contract specifications, approved drawings, project quality standards, and the applicable regulations and standards of Abu Dhabi authorities.<br>Key Responsibilities Review and understand contract documents, technical specifications, approved drawings, method statements, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements. Inspect electrical works on-site to ensure compliance with project specifications, approved shop drawings, and applicable Abu Dhabi regulations and international standards. Monitor contractor activities through routine inspections, testing, and verification to ensure compliance with quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) requirements. Witness testing and commissioning activities for electrical systems and verify compliance with project specifications. Process Inspection Requests (IRs) and coordinate with the Resident Engineer (RE), Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE), and discipline engineers for timely approvals. Review materials delivered to site and verify compliance with approved material submittals and project specifications. Maintain daily site records, including contractor manpower, equipment, work progress, and site activities. Record site observations, non-conformances, corrective actions, and construction progress through detailed inspection reports. Carry out site inspections as directed by the RE/ARE and monitor implementation of issued site instructions. Verify measurements and quantities of completed works for progress reporting and payment purposes. Ensure all electrical installations comply with approved quality procedures, project standards, and contract requirements. Monitor contractor compliance with HSE requirements and immediately report unsafe practices or violations. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure proper interface between electrical works and civil, mechanical, utilities, and road infrastructure. Prepare accurate inspection reports and maintain comprehensive project documentation. <br>Qualifications & Requirements Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred). Minimum 8+ years of overall experience, including substantial experience working with an engineering consultancy or construction supervision consultant. Proven experience in the supervision of infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, utilities, street lighting, traffic signal systems, pumping stations, substations, electrical utility networks, and other associated infrastructure works. Strong knowledge of electrical installations, testing and commissioning procedures, and construction practices for infrastructure projects. Familiarity with Abu Dhabi standards and regulations. Excellent communication, reporting, and coordination skills.

The Department of Electrical Engineering (ELE) in the College of Engineering at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for a Visiting faculty position at the assistant, associate, or full professor level, commencing in Fall 2027. The position is primarily focused on teaching and is a one-year renewable contract. The position is open to all areas of Electrical Engineering.<br><br>Applicants must hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field and be able to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
