<p>The Human Data Interaction Lab at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking to appoint a Senior Research Engineer to support and lead the design, development, evaluation, and dissemination of novel systems and tools for decision-making support. The position is intended for a highly experienced researcher and systems builder with strong technical independence, excellent software engineering practices, and a demonstrated ability to translate research ideas into robust, reproducible, and usable tools.</p><br><br>
<p>The successful candidate must be available to start immediately and should bring a minimum of six years of relevant research experience, together with at least a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Artificial Intelligence, Data Systems, or a closely related field.</p><br><br>
<p>HuDa Lab examines data and decision-making from a tooling and systems-building perspective. The lab designs and builds systems that support decision-making across a variety of domains, including disinformation mitigation, collaborative decision-making, interactive data exploration, and optimization problems in uncertain environments such as stock portfolio optimization. The lab does not specialize in applied data science projects or computational social science research. Candidates whose primary interest is applied data science rather than building tools, systems, and research prototypes for data-driven decision-making are encouraged to consider opportunities in other labs.</p><br><br>

Work closely with mobile brands, accessory manufacturers, distributors, and other partners to secure: Promotional support, co-marketing investment, Product launches, Exclusive offers, Commercial incentives, training, and merchandising support </p><p> </p><p><strong>Reporting, Analytics & Governance</strong></p><p> Establish a robust performance reporting framework covering daily, weekly, and monthly commercial and operational KPIs. </p><p>Provide regular performance updates and strategic recommendations to the CEO and senior management. </p><p>Use data and analytics to identify trends, underperforming locations, sales opportunities, and operational risks. </p><p>Drive a culture of fact-based decision-making and performance accountability across the organization. </p><p> </p><p><strong>Qualifications & Experience </strong></p><p>Essential: 8+ years of progressive retail sales experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior regional, multi-site, or director-level leadership role. </p><p>Proven experience managing a multi-location retail network, preferably kiosks, pop-ups, stores, or other small-format/high-footfall retail environments. </p><p>Strong industry experience in mobile phones, consumer electronics, telecom, mobile accessories, or related retail categories. </p><p>Demonstrated track record of delivering revenue growth, margin improvement, and profitable retail expansion. </p><p>Strong understanding of retail KPIs, including conversion, ATV, UPT, sales per square foot, gross margin, sell-through, stock turnover, and labor productivity. </p><p>Proven experience with P&L ownership, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. </p><p>Strong commercial and negotiation skills with experience managing landlords, mall operators, vendors, distributors, and brand partners. </p><p>Demonstrated ability to recruit, lead, coach, and develop large frontline sales teams. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities. </p><p>Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills. </p><p>Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related discipline. </p><p>A Master’s degree or relevant professional qualification is an advantage</p>
