About Course. Tours Course. Tours is a multilingual course marketplace connecting students with schools and course providers, focused on the UAE and international markets. The platform supports English, Russian. Our current stack is PHP / Yii, and we're actively developing payment infrastructure, booking flows, and AI-assisted course recommendations. The role We're looking for a developer who is genuinely strong in Yii to work on and extend our existing platform. You'll be hands-on with the current codebase from day one — building features, improving performance and SEO, and working on a Stripe-based deferred payment and refund system. Over time, you'll also help us evolve the architecture toward a modern Node.js / Type Script stack using a gradual, low-risk approach — so familiarity with that ecosystem is a real plus. This is a senior, ownership-oriented role working directly with the founder. What you'll do Develop and maintain features in our PHP / Yii application. Work on a Stripe-based deferred payment and refund system (Setup Intent, off-session charges, refund logic) and a normalized multi-school policy database (MySQL 8). Improve SEO and front-end performance — crawlability, descriptive markup, rendering. Contribute to an AI-assisted recommendation and booking layer. Help plan and gradually execute a migration toward Node.js / Type Script (strangler pattern — no risky full rewrites). Must-have skills Strong, production-level experience with PHP and the Yii framework (Yii1). Solid relational database design and SQL (MySQL 8). Good understanding of web performance, SEO fundamentals, and clean API design. Nice to have Type Script / Node.js. React / Next.js. Stripe or other payment-gateway integration experience (Setup Intent, refunds). Internationalization / multilingual product experience (i18n). Travel, OTA, marketplace, or booking-platform background. Details Flexible engagement for the right person — contract, part-time, or full-time. If you know Yii well and are comfortable growing into a modern JS/TS stack, I'd love to hear from you.
