Role Description A Head of Operations is responsible for leading and overseeing the organization's day-to-day operational activities, developing operational strategies, managing teams and resources, improving processes, controlling costs, and ensuring the efficient delivery of products and services. The role works closely with senior management and cross-functional departments to achieve business objectives, maintain operational excellence, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive sustainable organizational growth. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee the organization's overall day-to-day operational activities. Develop and implement operational strategies, plans, policies, procedures, and performance objectives aligned with business goals. Translate organizational strategy into practical operational plans, priorities, targets, and measurable outcomes. Manage and coordinate multiple departments, teams, business units, projects, and operational functions as required. Manage operational budgets, expenditure, resource allocation, cost controls, and financial-performance targets. Develop workforce plans and ensure appropriate staffing levels, skills, structures, and resources are available to support business requirements. Develop and maintain operational policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), workflows, controls, and process documentation. Establish appropriate risk-management, business-continuity, emergency-response, and operational-resilience processes. Monitor supplier, contractor, service-provider, and third-party performance where applicable. Negotiate or support commercial arrangements, service agreements, operational contracts, and supplier relationships as required. Review operational reports, financial information, customer data, productivity metrics, and performance trends to support management decisions. Prepare operational dashboards, management reports, business reviews, forecasts, budgets, and strategic recommendations. Use data and business intelligence to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and operational improvement priorities. Oversee implementation of operational technology, ERP systems, workflow platforms, automation tools, and digital-transformation initiatives. Ensure effective management and protection of company assets, equipment, facilities, technology, and operational resources. Monitor operational quality, safety, security, compliance, and service standards. Establish audit, inspection, quality-control, and operational-review processes where required. Work with senior leadership to develop annual operating plans, budgets, growth strategies, and organizational priorities. Support business expansion, new-site launches, new products or services, market entry, restructuring, and strategic operational initiatives. Evaluate operational risks and develop contingency plans, alternative processes, and recovery strategies. Maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, suppliers, regulators, service providers, and other stakeholders. Ensure confidentiality and appropriate protection of operational, commercial, financial, employee, customer, and strategic information. Monitor industry trends, market developments, emerging technologies, operational best practices, and competitive practices. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, profitability, service quality, productivity, scalability, customer satisfaction, and organizational performance. Contribute to continuous improvement of business operations, workforce performance, process efficiency, cost management, risk control, service delivery, and long-term organizational growth. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Operations Management, or a related discipline is advantageous. Significant experience in operations management, business operations, general management, or a related senior leadership position. Demonstrated experience managing multiple operational functions, departments, teams, projects, or business units. Strong knowledge of operational strategy, business processes, performance management, resource planning, cost control, and organizational development. Proven experience developing and implementing operational strategies, policies, procedures, KPIs, and performance-improvement programs. Strong financial understanding, including budgeting, forecasting, cost management, profitability analysis, and resource allocation. Excellent leadership, team-management, coaching, mentoring, delegation, and organizational-development skills. Strong analytical, strategic-thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and risk-management abilities. Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, stakeholder-management, and interpersonal skills. Strong understanding of process improvement methodologies, operational excellence, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar approaches is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook. Relevant professional qualifications in operations management, supply chain, project management, Lean Six Sigma, or business management are advantageous. <p>We are seeking an experienced, commercially driven, and results-oriented Retail Sales Director – Mobile & Accessories to lead the growth and performance of our Kiosk Retail Cluster across the assigned market. </p><p>The role will have end-to-end responsibility for the sales, profitability, operational performance, inventory productivity, customer experience, and people development of the kiosk network. </p><p>The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of high-volume, small-format retail and the ability to translate commercial strategy into consistent execution at the store level. </p><p>As the leader of a fast-paced kiosk business, you will be responsible for maximizing footfall conversion, average transaction value, units per transaction, gross margin, and sales productivity, while maintaining strong operational controls and an engaging customer experience. </p><p>You will also play a key role in network expansion, identifying new locations and business opportunities, negotiating with key stakeholders, and building a scalable operating model for future growth. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities </strong></p><p> </p><p><strong>Commercial Strategy & Revenue Growth: </strong></p><p>Develop and execute the overall sales and commercial strategy for the Mobile & Accessories kiosk network. </p><p>Own cluster-level revenue, gross margin, EBITDA/profitability, and sales productivity targets. </p><p>Establish annual, quarterly, and monthly sales plans, translating business objectives into clear targets for each kiosk and team. </p><p>Drive continuous improvement in key retail KPIs, including: Sales per kiosk / sales per square foo, conversion rate, Average Transaction Value (ATV), Units per Transaction (UPT, gross margin, attachment,t and cross-sell rate, inventory turnover. Identify opportunities to increase revenue through upselling, cross-selling, bundles, promotions, and product mix optimization. </p><p>Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing, consumer behavior, and emerging mobile accessory categories to maintain a competitive product proposition.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Kiosk Network Expansion & Business </strong></p><p>Development: Identify and evaluate high-potential locations, including shopping malls, hypermarkets, transit hubs, high-footfall retail destinations, and other strategic venues. </p><p>Develop business cases for new kiosk locations, including sales forecasts, investment requirements, operating costs, payback, and profitability expectations. </p><p>Lead the commercial and operational rollout of new kiosks, ensuring timely opening and readiness. Develop a scalable kiosk operating model that supports rapid expansion while maintaining consistent customer and brand standards. Evaluate the performance of existing locations and recommend relocation, resizing, refurbishment, consolidation, or closure where appropriate</p><p>Operational Excellence </p><p>Establish and continuously improve standardized SOPs and operating standards across the kiosk network. </p><p>Ensure strict compliance with procedures covering: Opening and closing Cash management and reconciliation, inventory receiving and transfers Stock counts and inventory audits Loss prevention and shrinkage control Discount and promotional controls Health, safety, and mall compliance.e Ensure all kiosks consistently meet required standards for customer service, appearance, availability, and operational discipline. </p><p>Use sales and operational data to identify performance gaps and implement corrective action plans</p><p> </p><p><strong>Merchandising & Customer Experience </strong></p><p>Develop and maintain a compelling visual merchandising strategy specifically designed for small-footprint, high-traffic kiosk environments. </p><p>Optimize product placement, price communication, promotional displays, and product adjacencies to maximize conversion and basket size. </p><p>Ensure the right balance between fast-moving mobile accessories, premium products, impulse purchases, and emerging categories. </p><p>Partner with marketing and brand teams to execute seasonal campaigns, product launches, promotions, and in-store activations. </p><p>Maintain a consistently high standard of customer engagement and service across all locations</p><p> </p><p><strong>Inventory & Product Management</strong></p><p>Partner closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, and Merchandising teams to maintain optimum inventory availability. </p><p>Ensure strong availability of high-demand and fast-moving products while controlling excess and obsolete inventory. </p><p>Establish appropriate stock cover, replenishment, assortment, and allocation strategies by kiosk. Monitor inventory ageing, sell-through, stock variance, shrinkage, and inventory turnover. </p><p>Develop action plans to accelerate the sale of slow-moving and ageing inventory without unnecessarily eroding margins</p><p> </p><p><strong>Leadership & Talent Development</strong> </p><p>Lead and develop Area Sales Managers, Kiosk Supervisors, and frontline Sales Associates across the network. Build a high-performance, customer-focused sales culture based on accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement. Establish clear individual and team KPIs and ensure consistent performance management. </p><p>Develop structured training programs covering: Product knowledge, consultative selling, cross-selling and upselling, objection handling, closing techniques, customer experience, product demonstrations.s Implement effective incentive and recognition programs to drive performance, engagement, and retention. </p><p>Identify and develop high-potential employees to build a strong internal leadership pipeline</p><p> </p><p><strong>P&L & Financial Management </strong></p><p>Own the financial performance of the kiosk cluster, including revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, and profitability. </p><p>Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and business plans. Analyze kiosk-level profitability and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency and returns. </p><p>Monitor labor productivity, rental costs, promotional spending, inventory costs, and other key operating expenses. </p><p>Ensure commercial decisions are supported by robust financial analysis and clear return-on-investment expectations</p><p> </p><p><strong>Landlord, Mall & Strategic </strong></p><p>Partner Management acts as the senior commercial contact for mall management, landlords, property operators, and strategic retail partners. </p><p>Manage relationships relating to kiosk placement, trading hours, lease compliance, operational requirements, visibility, and commercial performance. </p><p>Identify opportunities to improve kiosk locations, negotiate better commercial terms, and secure strategic placements. Work closely with mobile brands, accessory manufacturers, distributors, and other partners to secure: Promotional support, co-marketing investment, Product launches, Exclusive offers, Commercial incentives, training, and merchandising support </p><p> </p><p><strong>Reporting, Analytics & Governance</strong></p><p> Establish a robust performance reporting framework covering daily, weekly, and monthly commercial and operational KPIs. </p><p>Provide regular performance updates and strategic recommendations to the CEO and senior management. </p><p>Use data and analytics to identify trends, underperforming locations, sales opportunities, and operational risks. </p><p>Drive a culture of fact-based decision-making and performance accountability across the organization. </p><p> </p><p><strong>Qualifications & Experience </strong></p><p>Essential: 8+ years of progressive retail sales experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior regional, multi-site, or director-level leadership role. </p><p>Proven experience managing a multi-location retail network, preferably kiosks, pop-ups, stores, or other small-format/high-footfall retail environments. </p><p>Strong industry experience in mobile phones, consumer electronics, telecom, mobile accessories, or related retail categories. </p><p>Demonstrated track record of delivering revenue growth, margin improvement, and profitable retail expansion. </p><p>Strong understanding of retail KPIs, including conversion, ATV, UPT, sales per square foot, gross margin, sell-through, stock turnover, and labor productivity. </p><p>Proven experience with P&L ownership, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. </p><p>Strong commercial and negotiation skills with experience managing landlords, mall operators, vendors, distributors, and brand partners. </p><p>Demonstrated ability to recruit, lead, coach, and develop large frontline sales teams. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities. </p><p>Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills. </p><p>Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related discipline. </p><p>A Master’s degree or relevant professional qualification is an advantage</p>
