Join us.<br> <br>Job Description<br> Ensure contractor compliance with project standards, specifications, and approved drawings. Maintain daily records of the contractor’s manpower, equipment, and site activities. Undertake site supervision and inspections as instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE). Liaise and follow up daily with the contractor to ensure effective management of resources, health and safety, and equipment. Prepare daily reports for the RE or ARE, including work orders, materials delivery, and daily inspection activities. Follow up and implement site instructions issued by the RE or ARE. Apply and enforce all quality control and quality assurance procedures on site. Perform site measurements and surveying checks, including pipe alignments, levels, and elevations, as required. Coordinate and cooperate with the client project manager during inspections in the presence of the RE or ARE. Monitor contractor QA/QC activities and maintain relevant records. Assist RE and ARE in the preparation of correspondence, reports, and documentation in compliance with contract requirements. Identify site problems and work with the RE or ARE to resolve issues promptly. Monitor the start-up, commissioning, and handover of civil infrastructure works, maintaining records of project milestones. Assist in coordination with other disciplines (structural, electrical, mechanical) to ensure proper integration of civil works. Ensure that all site works are conducted in accordance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements, and report any violations immediately. Participate in site meetings, coordination sessions, and technical discussions with the contractor, RE, ARE, and client representatives. Conduct final inspections and punch list verification prior to project milestones or handover stages. <br>Qualifications<br> Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering. Minimum 7 years of experience in construction and supervision of roads and infrastructure with at least 5 years of experience in the UAE is mandatory In-depth knowledge of construction practices, building codes, and regulations in the UAE. The Principal Civil/Structural Designer proposes improvements to processes and methods within the Civil/Structural Design discipline.<br><br>Responsibilities<br><br>Key Tasks and Responsibilities:<br><br>Prepare and develop arrangement and detail conceptual, FEED, studies, and detail design drawings of high technical quality and professional consistent presentation, ensuring clarity and ease of construction Develop 3D models and ensure clash-free with all other disciplines Ensure design deliverables are completed and issued per project specifications, MDR, and project Level 2 & 3 procedures and within agreed schedules and budgets Apply knowledge and/or skills to a range of activities Set priorities, organize own work and time to meet objectives, and (as Lead Designer) forecast and plan resource requirements Act as a coordinator and technical expert within the process of development and/or modification of 3D Macros applied at E3D/S3D Become fully familiar with Project Scope of Work, specifications, schedule, and inter-discipline requirements, including identifying concerns as early as practicable and taking appropriate initiatives to address them Prepare Civil and Structural layouts from data generated by others in close liaison with Civil and Structural Engineers and counterparts from other disciplines Assist Lead Engineer/Designer in raising technical queries, preparing estimates and job scope changes Attend (As Lead Designer) project Kickoff and Review meetings, Vendor meetings Monitor and coordinate the design team remotely if required and Lead a project in a Multi Office Project Execution Environment (MOPEX) Ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with McDermott requirements, Client and Statutory Design Codes, Standards, or Procedures with a particular focus on Health and Safety Policies Develop 3D Models and ensure clash free models in coordination with all other disciplines' requirements Organize design work, including setting up 3D and 2D systems Supervise Designers and Associate Designers Execute relevant administration and filing Check designs, with particular emphasis on interfaces with other disciplines Check designs for operational requirements, constructability, maintainability, and HSE aspects Provide drafting support as required Review other discipline drawings Review supplier drawings Be able to perform the engineering of Miscellaneous steel Participate in proposals as an expert for CSA design work When acting as Lead Designer, in addition:Direct and coordinate medium or large Design team as Lead Designer Lead projects as Lead Designer, engaging the participation of other disciplines Coordinate all activities within own discipline and discipline interfaces with other disciplines Lead the design team of the assigned work area and complete within the planned schedule and budget, in accordance with standards, MDR, and project-specific procedures and to a high professional standard Plan, organize, and direct all aspects of Discipline execution on the assigned project, including scope, deliverables, schedule, and all Discipline workforce resources - agree on allocations with the Engineering Manager Ensure interfaces and deliverables are clearly identified Maintain responsibility for progress and productivity, identifying any required corrective action Act as project-based Discipline point of contact in communications and meetings with the Project Team, Customer, vendor/supplier and/or subcontractor counterparts, and relevant agencies such as certifying authorities, auditors, third parties, etc.<br>Reports to:<br><br>Project: Lead Designer, Lead Engineer, Project Engineering Manager<br><br>Functional: Supervising Department Manager<br><br>Liaise With: Lead Designers, Engineers, all other Engineering and Design disciplines assigned to the project,<br><br>Project Engineer, Material Control Team, Document Control, and Customer representatives<br><br>Supervises: Design team assigned to a project or part of the project during the detailing and production phases<br><br>Qualifications<br><br>Essential Qualifications and Education:<br><br>High School graduate with a diploma in Civil or Structural disciplines or equivalent experience10+ years min with major contractor or consultant of which 5+ years of experience in oil and gas Detailed knowledge of associated industry detailing standards & codes Detailed knowledge of 3D and 2D drafting and material control systems (Auto CAD and/or Micro Station) Minimum 2 projects working and/or Review experience in E3D and/or S3DCapable of leading projects Be able to perform the engineering of Miscellaneous steel Be able to participate in proposals as an expert for CSA design work <br><br>About Us<br><br>Our ingenuity fuels daily life.
