<p>The Center for Quantum and Topological Systems (CQTS) at New York University (NYU) Abu Dhabi, UAE invites applications for an Associate Research Scientist or Research Scientist position, in the area of Quantum Chemistry. The candidate is expected to conduct research in quantum science focusing on the physical chemistry aspects, especially NMR and NV centers. Prior expertise in these areas is highly encouraged.</p><br><br>
<p>The selected candidate will work on cutting edge technologies in an excellent research environment, within the newly established Quantum Lab. The Center possesses the unique possibility to investigate cutting-edge interdisciplinary questions within the theoretical and experimental aspects of Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science and Engineering, from various points of view. The selected candidate will also have great opportunities to work on interdisciplinary research problems with other postdocs of the center.</p><br><br>
<p>We also expect successful applicants to do cutting-edge interdisciplinary research and work in synergy towards improving the collaborations and connections among the different areas. Ability to work and connect to more than one topic and having interdisciplinary perspective is an advantage, but disciplinary applications will be considered as well having a focus and in-depth expertise in a particular topic mentioned above.</p><br><br>
<p>Applicants should meet the following qualifications and possess relevant expertise:</p><br><br>
<p>● A PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field, with specialization and expertise in Quantum Chemistry, NMR, or NV-centers, with at least 3 years of experience in the relevant field.</p><br><br>
<p>● In this role, the candidate will be responsible for conducting research in the Quantum Lab, designing quantum experiments in the above areas leading to advancement in the field. </p><br><br>
<p>The appointment will be for a period of two years, and extensions to longer terms are possible upon review.</p><br><br>
<p>The terms of employment for these positions include a very competitive salary with additional attractive benefits, including generous housing allowance, medical insurance with access to world class facilities, annual home leave allowance, and (if applicable) dependent private school fees. Salaries are tax-free in the UAE (for US tax, the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion can be used). The researchers will have dedicated funds for traveling, computing, publications, etc. and will have access to excellent world-class research facilities.</p><br><br>
<p>The preferred starting date is Fall 2026, but earlier dates are also possible based on the excellence of the candidate and the processing steps. Review of applications will start on July 15, 2026, and will continue until the position is filled.</p><br><br>

<p>The Evolutionary Genomics laboratory in the Division of Science, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a junior research scientist starting September 1, 2026. The successful applicant will assist senior researchers on a diversity of projects related to the area of adaptation genomics. Our group uses a variety of model systems to understand the evolutionary processes leading to adaptation to the environment as well as the evolution of phenotypes. The successful applicant will be responsible for the daily maintenance of the lab, the organization and management of our large collection of samples, molecular biology experiments, and bioinformatics analysis. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students and undergraduate students.</p><br><br>
<p>Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in biology, with some experience in molecular biology or bioinformatics and a good understanding of evolutionary biology. Excellent organizational skills are required.</p><br><br>
