We are currently hiring a Manager – Learning & Development for a leading luxury retail group in the UAE.,ROLE PURPOSERuns the function day to day. Owns the calendar, builds and approves the learning content, manages the two delivery roles, and personally carries store management capability — the development gap that matters most, because Rivoli promotes its managers off the floor. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESTraining calendar. Build and own the annual and quarterly calendar for all markets, worked backwards from the trading calendar so delivery lands when the floor can absorb it. Content development, review and approval. Build learning content directly — particularly management and leadership programmes and anything the Assistant Manager cannot absorb — and set the standard for how content is written across the department. Review and approve all content, including anything AI-assisted, before it goes to the L&TD Head for sign-off and reaches the learner on time. Team management. Manage, coach and develop the Assistant Manager and Field Trainer, and protect their field days against administrative drift. Assessment and IDPs. Run the assessment cycle against the competency framework, and quality-assure the Individual Development Plans that come out of it. Management capability. Personally deliver the Store Manager and Store In-charge development programmes — coaching, team leadership and managing performance on the floor. Store visit governance. Own the store visit and observation format, and report findings two ways: store by store, so each store gets its own action list; and consolidated, so a repeated finding is treated as a content or process problem, not an individual one. Brand training rollout. Coordinate with the brand teams on scheduling, nominations and certification as new brand training is released. Regional cycles. Run planned visit cycles in the regional markets – Qatar, Oman and Bahrain, and develop local store champions to carry the routine between visits. Mystery shopping. Run the programme operationally whenever it is active. Reporting. Weekly report to the L&TD Head every Friday, plus the monthly dashboard connecting learning activity to the commercial KPIs. MEASURED ONConversion rate movement across all stores covered by the training calendar. IDP completion across the population, and progression rate for identified high-potential colleagues. Calendar adherence — planned sessions delivered on schedule across all four markets. Learning content produced and approved against the annual content plan. Field-day adherence for self and team; team performance, development and retention. PROFILE10-15 years of experience, including 3 or more managing an L&D or training team. Floor credibility matters here, over and above a training qualification Ideally has carried a store or area target. Instructional design capability and confident delivery to store managers. GCC multi-market experience. Valid UAE driving license. Desirable certifications: CPTD (ATD) or CIPD Level 7, a recognized professional coaching qualification.
