<p>Embodied AI and Robotics (AIR) Lab at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking a Junior Research Scientist to support technology translation research involving artificial intelligence, robotics, assistive technologies, and human-centered systems. The successful applicant will contribute to transforming emerging research outcomes into practical prototypes and deployable solutions that address real-world challenges in accessibility, inclusive mobility, and smart urban environments. <p>Research at AIR focuses on developing interdisciplinary, technology-driven solutions for sustainable, resilient, inclusive, and human-centered cities. The Junior Research Scientist will work on projects that bridge fundamental research and real-world application, with particular emphasis on translating advances in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, robotics, and human-computer interaction into usable technologies.</p><br><br>
<p>The role may involve supporting the evaluation of AI-powered assistive technologies for people with disabilities, including systems for accessible navigation, communication, public services, and urban mobility. Initial projects may include the translation of research prototypes into pilot-ready systems for deployment in environments such as transportation hubs, public institutions, hospitals, campuses, and commercial facilities.</p><br><br>
<p>The Junior Research Scientist will collaborate with researchers, engineers, industry partners, government entities, community stakeholders, and prospective users to identify practical requirements and evaluate the technical and social impact of proposed solutions. The position also provides opportunities to contribute to new research directions related to technology translation, responsible AI, inclusive design, and the practical adoption of emerging technologies.</p><br><br>
<p><strong>Responsibilities of the position include:</strong></p><br><br>

<li>Supporting the design, development, integration, testing, and evaluation of AI- and robotics-based technologies.</li>

<li>Collecting, processing, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative research data.</li>
<li>Supporting user studies, field evaluations, pilot deployments, and demonstrations in real-world environments.</li>
<li>Engaging with researchers, end users, community representatives, government entities, and industry partners to understand requirements and gather feedback.</li>
<li>Assessing the technical feasibility, usability, accessibility, scalability, and potential impact of research technologies.</li>
<li>Preparing technical documentation, research reports, presentations, project proposals, and materials for academic or external stakeholders.</li>
<li>Coordinating project activities and supporting the day-to-day management of technology translation initiatives.</li>
<li>Contributing to research publications, grant proposals, intellectual property documentation, and technology commercialization activities where appropriate.</li>

<p>Candidates must hold a bachelor's or master's degree (or equivalent) in any field. Applicants with less than five years of professional experience are encouraged to apply. Position Overview We are seeking a professional, customer-focused, and results-driven Café Supervisor / Manager to oversee the daily operations of a café while maintaining high standards of customer service, food and beverage quality, cleanliness, and operational efficiency. Join us.<br> <br>Job Description<br> <br>The Associate – Landscape operating as a senior design professional is responsible for driving strategy, innovation, and excellence in the design and delivery of landscape architecture projects. This role combines hands-on project leadership with team management, technical oversight, and client engagement. The Associate plays a key role in shaping project outcomes, mentoring staff, and contributing to the studio’s growth and reputation through thought leadership, quality assurance, and business development.<br> <br>Responsibilities:<br> May be required to act as a line manager and should be able to mentor, monitor timekeeping, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback on assigned technical staff. Play an active role in the technical development of the allocated team. Acts in a supporting role to the Team Leader/ Manager/ Associate Director /Director by delegating work and directing less experienced staff to complete assigned projects' technical tasks. Able to monitor and track the budget for specific tasks within the project. Take the lead on multiple landscape architecture projects and define roles and responsibilities. Lead client interface and manage projects' contractual requirements. Planned and conducted design and creative review sessions for ongoing projects and competitions. Identify skills gaps, source, interview, and recruit new joiners. Present market research outcomes and develop a thought leadership presentation for the wider team. Well aware of landscape architecture standards generally applied across landscape architecture projects sourced from landscape architecture authorities and regulatory guidelines. Drive and conduct site opportunity and constraint studies for projects, present proposals internally and externally, and derive design ideas for implementation and further consideration. Contribute to discussions and design drivers within the studio's ethos. Establish innovative visions for the projects that align with the studio ethos, the site's potential, and the project brief. Lead landscape architecture project deliverables with applicable landscape architecture authorities and client requirements. Ensure the compliance of deliverables with the scope of work and contracts. Clearly understand the scopes of Architecture, urban planning, and landscape, as well as the synergies and overlaps between them, on projects and in the studio. Able to develop new landscape architecture and building typologies applicable to projects and sites with conditions. Able to tailor design responses to project-specific conditions. Narrate landscape architecture ideas clearly through literature in reports and presentations, and guide/mentor direct reports in effective report writing. Bridge between delivering design ideas and delivering to budget. Understand client objectives and steer design thinking accordingly. Actively promote innovative landscape architecture attributes and influence peers and reports. Promote the use of innovative digital tools in landscape architecture projects and engage in internal research and development. Identify new potential areas of innovation and improvement in design ideation and presentation that the landscape architecture team can benefit from. Manage, coordinate, and deliver landscape architecture bids and proposals, tailoring technical approaches, methodologies, and delivery structures as needed. Prepare and coordinate the commercial aspects of bids in accordance with project expectations. Structure teams for landscape architecture projects with a clear understanding of project roles and responsibilities. Advocate for quality procedures applicable to the landscape architecture technical practice group and continuously apply thorough self-checks and reviews of deliverables before sharing them. Implement safety in design standards and procedures, and report on safety within and outside the work environment, including any incidents or near misses that may impact staff. Contribute to and participate in one of the U+P steering committees that promote integration, knowledge sharing, digital integration, or diversity and inclusion. Organise internal libraries and update the internal landscape architecture capabilities statement. Promote innovation and change in landscape architecture graphics across projects and document these changes for broader team use. Lead and present internal and external workshops, driving outcomes that benefit projects and the studio. May be required to act as Project Manager on small to medium-sized discipline-specific projects. Has an excellent understanding of project delivery requirements and is well-versed with the company’s procedures. Should be well-versed in using Earned Value Management to assess design progress against budget. Has the ability to build and maintain client relationships. Attend client meetings as the technical lead to gather information, discuss project requirements, and explain/ defend work. Participates in the development and preparation of bids and proposals—the ability to present solutions to clients professionally and technically competently. Understand bid requirements and be able to support putting together the' technical approach and methodologies' while supporting the delivery structure, coordinating input, and implementing the commercial aspects of bids. Supports business development and selling initiatives to expand work assignments, including managing client relationships and expectations. Assists with proposal development and participates in creating bids and technical write-ups for proposals. Leads communication with clients to discuss work scope, requests information to support project execution and receives client comments on draft work products. Presents to clients, senior leadership and other project stakeholders to demonstrate progress and clearly explain design principles. Responsible for coordinating with the other disciplines to ensure no design gaps and provide fully coordinated design deliverables. <br>Qualifications<br> Minimum 10 years of professional experience in landscape architecture, with demonstrated expertise in project design and delivery Bachelors degree in the relevant discipline field. Masters degree preferred. <br> Job Purpose <br><p>Manage, supervise and control the development and implementation of a diverse range of major Multi-disciplined engineering projects from initial inception through to completion and handover, relating to new plants, facilities and modifications to existing plant and systems. Provides basic technical and administrative input to take projects from initial inception stage to drafting and submission of requirements proposals. Includes defining, revising and refining scopes and objectives, obtaining or arranging to obtain background data on potential cost and technical feasibility, and advising alternatives where appropriate. <br>• Participate in the refinement of initial proposals into coherent viable project plans. Directs and participates in the revision and refinement of initial project designs, specifications, costs, and phasing preparation of project strategy in conjunction with user department and other divisions such Finance, Commercial Support, etc.<br>• Initiate and approve the preparation of overall work programs, terms of reference for contractors, projects standards and working procedures. Establishes the basis for project execution phase.<br>• Ensure that all projects are implemented in accordance with sound project management principles and established Company procedures and standards. Initiates/manages pre-qualification of bidders list, exercises overall control over the budget and cost of the project and each contract, vetting authorization for expenditure. Reviews and endorses contract purchase and subcontracts recommendations and variation orders throughout all phases of the project and ensures that approved plans are updated accordingly.<br>• Ensure the preparation of the Department’s safety program on the project and oversees compliance with the Company’s safety rules and regulations. Evaluates and audits adherence to same and takes necessary remedial measures to correct and overcome deficiencies.</p><br><br><br>Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 2) <br><p>• Ensure that the project is executed in a safe manner and that all contractors adhere to approved safety procedures and method statements for carrying out works / contracts awarded.<br>• Advise Management of anticipated completion date of the project for subsequent start up planning. Assist in development of start-up plan and manning requirements. Authorizes alternate studies such as shop vs. field fabricated pipe, concrete vs. Steel structures etc. and agree in consultation on completion of portions of the plant for acceptance by end user.<br>• Coordinate overall financial matters pertaining to the project, such as currency requirements and restrictions, import duty exceptions, financial forecasts, etc.<br>• Carry out other similar related duties such as attending Tender Board Meetings, reporting on the financial situation of the project. Appraises contractor’s overall performance for quality, cost, schedule and safety and ensures corrective actions are taken. Prepares weekly highlights and monthly progress reports covering all engineering, procurement and construction activities.<br>• Accountable for efficiently managing all projects within budgets and in accordance with Company policies, directives, engineering and project management standards. Poor decisions can involve significant financial losses due to changes of scope, re-work and program delays e.g. the possible consequences of lost production targets.<br>• Sets and oversees observance of quality and control standards for all activities carried out under his jurisdiction in assigned projects.<br>• Develop and manage definition, design and execution of projects to meet company’s objectives and guidelines on field development activities.<br>• Manage the technical integrity of surface facilities and project cost are maintained throughout the project life cycle.<br>• Deliver
