Job Description<br><br>WSP is seeking a Civil Inspector to join our Abu Dhabi team to support the construction supervision of major transportation, roads, utilities, and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting civil works on site, monitoring construction activities, and ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and authority requirements.<br><br>Responsibilities<br><br>Inspect civil construction works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements. Monitor site activities related to roads, pavements, earthworks, utilities corridors, structures, and associated infrastructure. Review contractor inspection requests and verify completed works prior to approval. Witness construction activities and testing to ensure compliance with quality standards and project specifications. Coordinate with Resident Engineers, Site Engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders. Identify non-conforming works and assist in implementing corrective actions. Verify construction materials and workmanship meet approved standards. Maintain inspection records and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports. Monitor contractor compliance with approved method statements and construction procedures. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements on site. Assist in reviewing as-built records and project documentation. Support the project team in achieving quality, safety, and project delivery objectives.<br><br><br>Qualifications<br><br>Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Civil Inspector on roads, highways, transportation, utilities, and infrastructure projects. Proven experience working within construction supervision consultancy environments. Strong knowledge of civil construction activities including earthworks, pavement works, utility corridors, drainage systems, and road infrastructure. Familiarity with UAE construction standards, specifications, and authority requirements. Experience inspecting concrete works, asphalt works, roadworks, utility works, and associated civil infrastructure. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents. Experience witnessing inspections, testing, and handover activities. Strong communication, coordination, and reporting skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Experience on major infrastructure and transportation projects within Abu Dhabi or the UAE is preferred. The role requires strong analytical, negotiation, and project coordination skills to ensure that each project is completed within budget and delivers maximum value.<br>Key Responsibilities:Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and tender documentation for interior fit-out projects. Review drawings, specifications, and material requirements to ensure accurate pricing. Source and evaluate quotations from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. Manage project budgets, track costs, and prepare financial progress reports. Prepare and process variations, interim valuations, and final accounts. Maintain a detailed diary of the day’s work activities, issues, work approved or rejected, hours of operation, labour and equipment used, etc. and sign at the end of each day. Attend to Work Inspection Request (WIR) submitted by the contractor and take appropriate action in a timely manner. Monitor quality of works and assess the safety at site including health and environmental issues, ensuring the same complies with contract specifications, safety and health risk assessment and environmental mitigating measures respectively on a daily basis. Prepare Surveillance Report(s) for deficiencies of work found at site that are believed to have failed or if the contractor is not complying with verbal instructions and subsequently complete a Site Observation Report (SOR) or Non-Conformance Report (NCR) if required in view of the development of events. Provide technical input and experiences to resolve any discipline related issues on site that may arise. Prepare/complete the necessary documentation prior to inspection of the Works and process accordingly following completion of the inspection. Keep, monitor and follow up as necessary and maintain complete record(s) concerning the execution of the works. Ensures that the project quality control procedures are used for the construction supervision works and monitors it for improvement. Ensure site progress information is communicated regularly. Coordinate the works to ensure successful hand-over of the project.<br><br><br>What Required Skills You'll Bring<br><br>Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute to the approval of the Engineer. Minimum of 5+ years of civil and utilities construction work experience on major infrastructure and Road construction projects. In this role you will get to involve in monitoring, inspection, coordination, witnessing, documentation of all Electrical and Civil for infrastructure/Road construction Project to ensure the project is constructed as per Contract requirements and specifications.<br><br>What You'll Be Doing<br><br>Assist the Utility Engineer in performing inspecting the site duties related to the Streetlight, Electrical & Telecommunication networks, Asphalt Road Construction works and related furniture, (Storm water, Guide signs, barriers, Guard rail ..etc) in accordance to the approved shop drawings & project specification. Maintain a detailed diary of the day’s work activities, issues, work approved or rejected, hours of operation, labour and equipment used, etc. and sign at the end of each day. Attend to Work Inspection Request (WIR) submitted by the contractor and take appropriate action in a timely manner. Monitor quality of works and assess the safety at site including health and environmental issues, ensuring the same complies with contract specifications, safety and health risk assessment and environmental mitigating measures respectively on a daily basis. Prepare Surveillance Report(s) for deficiencies of work found at site that are believed to have failed or if the contractor is not complying with verbal instructions and subsequently complete a Site Observation Report (SOR) or Non-Conformance Report (NCR) if required in view of the development of events. Provide technical input and experiences to resolve any discipline related issues on site that may arise. Prepare/complete the necessary documentation prior to inspection of the Works and process accordingly following completion of the inspection. Keep, monitor and follow up as necessary and maintain complete record(s) concerning the execution of the works. Ensures that the project quality control procedures are used for the construction supervision works and monitors it for improvement. Ensure site progress information is communicated regularly. <p>Support the development of the annual maintenance of all mechanical equipment and facilities with offshore, communicate the approved operational procedure and instructions to subordinate and monitor the adherence and controller manner.</p><ul><li><p>Develop and seek approval for inspection and maintained schedule ensuring alignment to the annual maintenance plan and control the implementation of schedule as per set time lines, HSE & Quality Standards</p></li><li><p>Identify the training needs and establish the job target for all the jobs in mechanical section under direct supervision and implement the approval workflow.</p></li><li><p>Communicate and Co-ordinate with the site execution team for tracking the routine/planned activities for the preparation of reports and plan for respective planning engineer review.</p></li><li><p>Provide effective leadership to building mechanical team individual object and evaluate the employee for training program to enhance the skills.</p></li><li><p>Plan daily work orders with the assistant head offshore and analyse priority of the maintenance activity , monitor daily maintenance, check ensure prompt response to emergency callouts.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate with the department to mechanical requirement , closely associate with corrosions ad monitoring and protect program while supervising inspections.</p></li><li><p>Analyse equipment threats and hazards and ensure implementation of standard operating procedure in order to maintain the integrity of all equipment.</p></li><li><p>Strong expertise in rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines), vibration analysis, condition monitoring, and root cause failure analysis. Experience in preventive and predictive maintenance, reliability improvement, and troubleshooting.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of API/ASME standards, lubrication systems, seals, and rotordynamics. Proficient in CAD tools, technical documentation, and equipment performance optimization.</p></li><li><p>Sound understanding of HSE standards and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p>We are looking 12 years’ experience on Maintenance which at least 5 years’ experience in Oil & gas Industry as Supervisor</p>
