Given that each claim is different in its nature, circumstances, complexity, territory/jurisdiction and magnitude, the job holder is required to possess and exhibit extensive knowledge of the intricacies and sensitivities involved in each and must possess full insurance technical knowledge, and comprehension, of the cover, implications and requirements of the various insurance policies (eg. Property, Casualty, Financial Lines, Life/Personal Accident, Marine, Motor Vehicle, etc.) that could get triggered for the purpose of claims recovery.</span></li><li><span>Analyse and evaluate insurance policy coverage terms, conditions, exclusions and warranties relevant to the incident and operations of the business unit and determine the implications on recovery, or otherwise, from insurers and external parties in order to strategize claims processing and recoveries.</span></li><li><span>Ensure timely notification of claims to underwriters, surveyors, loss adjusters, solicitors, and responsible third parties in order to comply with statutory insurance, insurance and legal requirements - thereby securing each business units right of claim against insurers and third parties involved. The nature of the job requires the job holder to have extensive dealings and interactions at all levels within each such entity in the UAE and globally depending upon the territory and jurisdiction involved.</span></li><li><span>Based on review of all information / material / data and financials assimilated - comprehensively brief the business unit concerned of the various insurance dimensions and sensitivities that impact a claim and then initiate, attend and conduct insurance surveys by underwriters, surveyors, and loss adjusters, solicitors with the objective of making an initial and final assessment of the damage / loss.</span></li><li><span>The job holder is required to influence and negotiate a plan of repairs or replacement, acceptable to the business unit, secure admissibility of a claim from loss adjustors and insurers, arrange for optimum sale value of salvage and obtain the release of maximum interim claim payment pending formalisation of the final claim amount.</span></li><li><span>Advise business unit on the capture of all financial elements of a claim which are recoverable under the terms of the insurance policy, ranging from cost of external repairs / replacement / internal material and man-hours and all such other insured costs incurred as a result of the incident, so as to then compile and quantify all insured losses; scrutinise additional financial benefits available under the insurance policy so as to optimise maximum recovery of claim in favour of the business unit.</span></li><li><span>Evaluate recovery potential of controversial, grey area or disputed claims and recommend acceptance of ex-gratia or compromised settlements based on technical assessment of insurance implication and potential for full recovery or otherwise.</span></li><li><span>Maintain a comprehensive and up-dated data base of all claims and computing loss ratios and trends for the purpose of assisting in the departments analysis of risk, claims profile and loss prevention techniques relevant to each business unit.</span></li><li><span>Provide managerial and technical support to the Insurance Claims team in handling, management and recovery of all high value, complex and long tail legal liability insurance claims involving manufacturers (aircraft and non aircraft), suppliers, vendors, repairers, insurers, surveyors and loss adjustors, solicitors, as also on all matters of Corporate 'crisis management and emergency response planning' involving aircraft disasters, legal liability claims involving death / injuries to passengers, baggage, cargo and third parties - in multi jurisdictions and highly litigious territories Job holder is required to be aware of the sensitivities involved and must exhibit a responsive approach, coupled with the ability to cope with stressful situations involving a catastrophe.</span></li></ul>Qualification<p><strong><span>In order to be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements: </span></strong></p><br><br><ul><li><span>At least 10 years of experience in Insurance Claims Management.</span></li><li><span>A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Business or Law.</span></li><li><span>Insurance degree or diploma preferred.</span></li><li><span>Experience at a middle management level in managing insurance, liability and indemnity related aspects in Contracts in a multinational Corporation with large and diverse global operations and exposures.</span></li></ul><p><span><strong><span>You'll have an edge if you have: </span></strong></span></p><br><br><ul><li><span>The ability to be innovative in solving complex insurance claims issues.</span></li><li><span>Analytical capability to interpret and analyse contracts, policy wordings, international conventions and relevant legislation and apply these to claims.</span></li><li><span>Knowledge of business and industry practices, as also regulatory and statutory provisions.</span></li><li><span>Knowledge of legalities and intricacies involving insurance programs.</span></li></ul><p><span>At Emirates Group, we’re committed to providing our employees with opportunities to grow and develop in their careers.
