Our mission is two‑fold: to advance fundamental theory in probability and machine learning, and to translate those breakthroughs into high‑impact tools that serve the UAE, the wider Arab world, and global society.</p><br><br>
<p>We are seeking a Junior Research Scientist to join the team to work under the theme of Computational & Interactive Health under the supervision of Dr. Farah Shamout & Dr. Hanan Salam and in close collaboration with Prof. Nizar Habash. The researcher is expected to have strong machine learning & AI skills and exemplary passion and motivation to pursue multidisciplinary research at the intersection of computing and healthcare. The project has three main objectives: (a) developing robust computational methods for decision-making in health based on clinical use cases of interest, (b) building a tailored health-focused Arabic knowledge interactive language model through the development of benchmark datasets, evaluation frameworks, and specialized LLMs and AI agents, and finally (c) designing specialized interactive multimodal multi-lingual natural interfaces.</p><br><br>

Perform routine operational calculations with respect to efficiency and electrical fault level calculations, for approval at a higher level.</p></li><li><p>Initiate start-up, shut down of various plant and equipment to Control Room Engineer’s/System Controllers instructions.</p></li><li><p>Monitor total system condition at all times, i.e. gas system, steam system, compressed air system, fuel system etc.</p></li><li><p>Report temperature alarms, vibration alarms, any alarms pertinent to Operation.</p></li><li><p>Observe fuel consumption, frequency, voltage and current for proper Power and Smelter operation.</p></li><li><p>Ensure operational routines are performed promptly.</p></li><li><p>Communicate with the respective field operators, Control Room Engineer/System Controller and Supervisor for any abnormalities in the plant for corrective action.</p></li><li><p>Train his subordinates as required to meet departmental objectives.</p></li><li><p>Raise work requests and store requests as required by the Control Room Engineer/System Controller/Supervisor/Shift Charge Engineer.</p></li><li><p>Ensure plant operation does not create environmental incidents in his plant area, to reduce waste and ensure legal compliance at all times</p></li><li><p>To participate in the Suggestion Scheme and occasionally verify suggestions put forward in order to drive continuous improvement.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><ul><li><p>Minimum Qualifications:</p><ul><li><p>Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or related Engineering field</p></li></ul><p>Minimum Experience:</p><ul><li><p>5 years working experience in Power or Manufacturing industry.</p></li></ul><p>Skills:</p><p>Proficiency in Computer Applications with emphasis on Microsoft Excel Advance Level and Visual Basic programming is a must.</p></li></ul>
