<p>Our Global PMC Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Consultant Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Abu Dhabi to work on a new projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Consultant Mechanical Engineer working on projects in the UAE performing design review and site coordination. Only candidates with a track record of working for recognised supervision consultants or PMC Companies will be considered. This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 3 month contract position hire as an outsource, employed by J10 Consulting. Key Responsibilities: The ‘Mechanical Engineer’ will be responsible for providing technical support to the Resident Engineer and for reviewing, monitoring, inspecting and supervising all Mechanical Works for the construction phase of the Project. He/She shall have the responsibility for checking that the Contractor’s Works are carried out in accordance with the Contract. He/She will also be responsible for managing and other members of the Engineer’s staff (assistants and inspectors). Design Coordination with Structural / Architectural / Electrical Disciplines. Coordination with Contractor / Sub-Contractors for accuracy and sequencing of works. Reviewing Contractor’s proposals for Mechanical Installations in coordination with requirements for other disciplines. Providing advice on placement / routing of mechanical services to meet requirements from other disciplines. Coordinating Design issues with H.O. Mechanical Engineers and coordinating Mechanical Works Inspections with Mechanical Inspectors. Periodic Site Inspections of Mechanical Systems Inspect HVAC Installations including Extract Fans, Pressurisation fans, AHUs, FCUs, Chillers, Heat Exchangers etc, inspect other Mechanical Installations such as Water Tanks, Pumps, Calorifiers etc. Inspect Ventilation Ducting installations including layouts of ducting, Ducting insulation, Fire Dampers etc. witness Pressures tests, Flushing, Chemical Dosing etc. of piping installations. Coordinate setting out / layouts of Final Fix Mechanical elements such as Grilles, Diffusers, Sprinklers, FHRs etc. with Architect. Monitor Progress of Works with respect to Contractor’s Programme, witness all prescribed tests for testing and commissioning of Systems. Schedule Snagging and de-snagging inspections and prepare snag lists as applicable. Conduct / Chair weekly MEP Progress Meeting, periodically attend weekly HSE and QA/QC Meetings and identify issues concerning safety and quality standards, attend and report coordination meetings with Main contractor & Sub-contractors. Review Contractor’s Mechanical Shop Drawings for compliance with Contract Drawings / requirements, Statutory, Civil Defence and coordination with other disciplines. Review Contractor’s CHW Network, Chiller / Heat Exchanger arrangement, HW & CW Supply, Drainage, Fire Fighting, CO Monitoring and HVAC Distributions. Review Material Submittals for compliance with Contract Specifications. Review Contractor’s Method Statements for compliance with Contract Specifications. Review of Contractor’s Interim Valuations. Monitor Issue of Site Observation Notes and NCRs as applicable. To check and verify As-Built drawings & O&M Manuals as applicable</p><p>Mechanical Engineer Experience: BSc Minimum in Mechanical Engineering 6+ years minimum of experience with at least 2 in a recognised PMC or supervision consultancy company Proficient in BIM software in addition to usual design softwares Strong design review and supervision engineer experience In-depth knowledge of local design standards and working experience with local authorities technical and legal requirements Strong communication, stakeholder and client management skills in a client facing role</p>

<ol><li><p>Develop, review, and update planning, scheduling, and reporting procedures in coordination with other departments and divisions.</p></li><li><p>Conduct training sessions for project teams whenever new systems, procedures, or processes are introduced or existing ones are revised.</p></li><li><p>Implement new planning systems and processes to meet internal business requirements and external/client requirements.</p></li><li><p>Provide planning and scheduling inputs during client prequalification processes.</p></li><li><p>Prepare and review Level-3 tender programmes, including cash flow forecasts and construction methodologies, where required.</p></li><li><p>Develop project schedules, cash flow forecasts, and construction methodologies for divisions, as required.</p></li><li><p>Provide schedule- and cost-related inputs to risk registers during the tendering stage.</p></li><li><p>Prepare and review construction methodologies in coordination with the Project Manager (PM), Construction Manager (CM), Project Controls Manager (PCM), and Project Lead Engineer (PLE).</p></li><li><p>Review baseline programmes, including resource and cost loading, ensuring alignment with the approved construction methodology.</p></li><li><p>Review labour histograms to ensure consistency with baseline and target schedules.</p></li><li><p>Review equipment and plant deployment schedules in line with baseline and target programmes.</p></li><li><p>Review project S-curves and cash-in forecasts to monitor progress against baseline and target schedules.</p></li><li><p>Assess project delays and support the preparation and review of Extension of Time (EOT) claims in coordination with the PM and PLE.</p></li><li><p>Develop and monitor the company's overall target programme.</p></li><li><p>Prepare Target vs. Turnover reports and other corporate planning reports as required.</p></li><li><p>Attend client, consultant, and project coordination meetings to provide planning and scheduling support.</p></li><li><p>Review internal audit findings and implement corrective actions related to planning and project controls.</p></li><li><p>Support the Contracts Administration team with time- and cost-related claims and contractual planning matters.</p></li><li><p>Perform additional planning and project control duties in line with the objectives of the Project Planning & Management Department.</p></li><li><p>Assist the Senior Project Lead Engineer (Sr. PLE) and management with any other planning-related tasks as assigned.</p></li></ol><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><ul><li><p>Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.</p></li><li><p>7+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction or engineering sectors is preferred.</p></li><li><p>Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools is a must.</p></li><li><p>Certification as a Planning Engineer (e.g., PMI-SP or equivalent) is a strong advantage.</p></li><li><p>Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects or major construction projects is highly desirable.</p></li><li><p>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams are critical.</p></li><li><p>Detail-oriented personality with a proactive approach to problem-solving is highly valued.</p></li></ul>
