<p>Our Global PMC Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Consultant Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Abu Dhabi to work on a new projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Consultant Mechanical Engineer working on projects in the UAE performing design review and site coordination. Only candidates with a track record of working for recognised supervision consultants or PMC Companies will be considered.
This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 3 month contract position hire as an outsource, employed by J10 Consulting.
Key Responsibilities:
The ‘Mechanical Engineer’ will be responsible for providing technical support to the Resident Engineer and for reviewing, monitoring, inspecting and supervising all Mechanical Works for the construction phase of the Project. He/She shall have the responsibility for checking that the Contractor’s Works are carried out in accordance with the Contract. He/She will also be responsible for managing and other members of the Engineer’s staff (assistants and inspectors).
Design Coordination with Structural / Architectural / Electrical Disciplines.
Coordination with Contractor / Sub-Contractors for accuracy and sequencing of works.
Reviewing Contractor’s proposals for Mechanical Installations in coordination with requirements for other disciplines.
Providing advice on placement / routing of mechanical services to meet requirements from other disciplines.
Coordinating Design issues with H.O. Mechanical Engineers and coordinating Mechanical Works Inspections with Mechanical Inspectors.
Periodic Site Inspections of Mechanical Systems
Inspect HVAC Installations including Extract Fans, Pressurisation fans, AHUs, FCUs, Chillers, Heat Exchangers etc, inspect other Mechanical Installations such as Water Tanks, Pumps, Calorifiers etc.
Inspect Ventilation Ducting installations including layouts of ducting, Ducting insulation, Fire Dampers etc. witness Pressures tests, Flushing, Chemical Dosing etc. of piping installations.
Coordinate setting out / layouts of Final Fix Mechanical elements such as Grilles, Diffusers, Sprinklers, FHRs etc. with Architect.
Monitor Progress of Works with respect to Contractor’s Programme, witness all prescribed tests for testing and commissioning of Systems.
Schedule Snagging and de-snagging inspections and prepare snag lists as applicable.
Conduct / Chair weekly MEP Progress Meeting, periodically attend weekly HSE and QA/QC Meetings and identify issues concerning safety and quality standards, attend and report coordination meetings with Main contractor & Sub-contractors.
Review Contractor’s Mechanical Shop Drawings for compliance with Contract Drawings / requirements, Statutory, Civil Defence and coordination with other disciplines.
Review Contractor’s CHW Network, Chiller / Heat Exchanger arrangement, HW & CW Supply, Drainage, Fire Fighting, CO Monitoring and HVAC Distributions.
Review Material Submittals for compliance with Contract Specifications.
Review Contractor’s Method Statements for compliance with Contract Specifications.
Review of Contractor’s Interim Valuations.
Monitor Issue of Site Observation Notes and NCRs as applicable.

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer – Static Equipment to join an EPC project team for a major Offshore Gas Processing project. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing all mechanical engineering activities related to static equipment throughout the FEED and Detail Engineering phases. The role requires strong technical expertise in static equipment design and engineering, combined with proven experience working within an EPC environment and coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, PMC, and equipment vendors.
