<h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> <p><span><strong><u>Project Position: Senior Supervisor - Commissioning-Mechanical</u></strong></span></p><br><p><span><strong><u>Primary Duties</u></strong></span></p><br><p><span><span>Ensures that all commissioning activities are completed in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner.</span></span></p><br><p><span><span>Provides day to day support to Commissioning Engineer/Commissioning Coordinator.</span></span></p><br><p><span><span>Setting up technical teams and monitoring progress to schedule.</span></span></p><br><p><span><span>Confirms/arranges suitable PPE is available to all personnel under him.</span></span></p><br><p><span><span>Arranges PTW, Tool Box talks are completed in line with HSE requirements prior work start.</span></span></p><br><p><span><span>Be continually present on the field to guarantee the quality and progress of the work.</span></span></p><br><p><span><span>Ability to lead a team of technicians/operators/ sub-contractor and safely execute the work.</span></span></p><br><p><span><span>Analyse team performance against schedule and report/advise any changes required to maintain progress to line management.</span></span></p><br><p><span><span>Monitor availability of personnel to complete planned workloads.</span></span></p><br><p><span><span>Liaise with other disciplines to ensure work fronts are available as required.</span></span></p><br><p><span><span>Ensure transport is available for site teams.</span></span></p><br><p><span><span>Look at initiatives to improve the work within pre-commissioning and commissioning.</span></span></p><br><p><span><span>Prepare all testing dossiers along with proper document to safely execute the work (Drawings, procedures, etc…)</span></span></p><br><p><span><span>Keep technically updated through the study of related technical literature including procedures and guidelines.</span></span></p><br><p><span><span>Ensure correct tool packages are available along with detailed comprehensive commissioning procedures for individual jobs.</span></span></p><br><p><span><span>Review spares, spare usage against plan.</span></span></p><br><p><span>Investigate causes of defective operation of systems and equipment including interfaces to other systems and suggest modifications to equipment or operational conditions.</span></p><br><p><span>Ensure that commissioning procedures are adhered to and complete all necessary documentation to facilitate work and up-date records.</span></p><br><p><span>Ensure full compliance to company Fire &amp; safety &amp; Environment procedures/standards in all executed work-tasks and actively contributes to sections HSE.</span></p><br><p><span>Identify potential HSSE risks (related to commissioning) and take appropriate steps to mitigate it.</span></p><br><p><span>Ensure commissioning area is controlled, all energized systems clearly marked and barricaded off. Access control in place, SIMOPS carefully assessed and controlled.</span></p><br><p><span>Give inputs to concern so as to ensure minimum standby time for vendor representative and avoid their revisits.</span></p><br><p><span>Accurate interpretation and understanding of P&amp;IDs, process flow diagrams, circuit diagrams and control narratives; no rework or time lost due to incorrect interpretation.</span></p><br><p><span><span>Review spares part usage against plan</span></span></p><br><p><span><span>Perform any other related duties and responsibilities as and when directed by Supervisor.</span></span></p><br><p><span><b><strong><u>Mechanical:</u></strong></b></span></p><br><span><span>Ability to execute mechanical commissioning activities and guide Technicians during work execution</span></span><span><span>Ability to monitor and maintain rotating equipment in healthy condition (vibration, lubrication level, mechanical seal, gland packing, bearings, etc.).</span></span><span><span>Ability to prepare rotating equipment for first start-up and ensure readiness for operation (removal of shipping locks, lubricating oil, alignment, packing installation, greasing, strainers installation, etc.).</span></span><span><span>Ability to guide in preservation and maintenance of rotating equipment after equipment commissioning and start-up.</span></span><span><span>Ability to assist in performing various activities related to rotating equipment likes lube oil flushing, alignment, lubrication, vibration checks, start-up etc.</span></span><span><span>Ability to assist in performing various activities related to static equipment likes proper installation of internals inside the vessels as per drawing &amp; specifications.</span></span><span><span>Ability to assist in performing various activities such as mechanical interlock, pipeline pigging activities, spring support hot</span><span>&amp; cold setting, overhead crane functional and load testing, etc.</span></span><span><span>Ability to assist in performing air blowing, flushing, leak testing, flange management, drying &amp; inerting of various piping.</span></span><span><span>Ability of application of appropriate codes and standards for valve testing/repairs such as: API, ASME, NBBI, ISO, BS, ANSI etc.</span></span> Additional Information <br> <br> <br> </div>
