About The Role -

We are looking for a Product Owner to own the product roadmap and backlog for the UniqPay platform: acquiring, payouts, currency conversion, and risk. You decide what gets built, in what order, and why. You are the voice of the merchant, the acquirer, and the regulator inside our engineering process, and the single owner of scope and acceptance for every sprint.

As Product Owner you sit between Engineering, Compliance, Operations, and Sales. You turn merchant demand, partner constraints, and regulatory obligations into a single prioritised roadmap, write the specifications that engineers build from, and carry what you learn at launch back into the next release. Because our merchants are in regulated industries operating across many countries, prior hands-on product experience in these verticals across international markets is mandatory, not preferred.

What You Will Do -

Own the roadmap: Maintain the product roadmap for acquiring, payouts, FX, and risk, balancing merchant demand, commercial priority, technical debt, and regulatory obligation.

Run the backlog: Write clear, testable user stories and acceptance criteria that cover payment edge cases: declines, retries, cascading, chargebacks, partial settlements, and FX.

Ship every sprint: Lead sprint planning, refinement, and review; act as the single decision maker on scope and acceptance; track delivery and make trade offs early.

Design for the regulator: Turn licensing conditions, KYC and KYB rules, AML monitoring, data residency, and scheme requirements into product requirements for each jurisdiction, and re-scope the backlog when the rules change.

Know the verticals: Run structured discovery with regulated merchants and with acquiring and banking partners, and build market by market knowledge of local payment methods and settlement rails.

Own the integrations: Lead the product side of PSP, acquirer, and merchant integrations: API specifications, timelines, and channel configuration.

Measure what matters: Define and track approval rates, latency, settlement accuracy, onboarding time to live, and merchant retention, and use them to steer prioritisation.

Close the loop: Run launch readiness and post launch and post incident reviews, and convert every lesson into a backlog item or a process change.

Who You Are -

Experience: 4 to 6 years in product ownership or product management, including at least 2 years shipping payments or fintech products for iGaming, Crypto, or FX merchants across international markets. This is a hard requirement.

Vertical knowledge: You understand how these merchants make money and lose it: cascading and approval rates, on and off ramp flows and settlement and margin dynamics in specific regulated industries.

Regulatory fluency: Direct experience applying licensing, KYC and KYB, AML, data residency, and card scheme rules in product design across more than one jurisdiction.

Delivery discipline: Hands on ownership of an agile backlog: writing stories, running ceremonies, and being accountable for sprint outcomes.

Technical depth: Comfortable working with engineers on API driven products and third party integrations, and able to read a sequence diagram or an API log without help.

Judgement: You say no clearly and often, and can explain a prioritisation call to a founder, a compliance officer, and an engineer in the same meeting.

Education: A bachelor degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field preferred. CSPO, PSPO, or equivalent is a plus.

Bonus points if -

You have sat across the table from a regulator, an auditor, or a card scheme during a licence application, audit, or review.

You have launched a product into a new country or corridor and dealt with the local payment methods and rules that came with it.

You have built the product function at an early stage company where the process did not exist yet.

Where this role goes -

The Product Owner seat is the proving ground for the Product Manager role. Show that you can run the roadmap, keep the platform compliant across markets, and think a level up, and the path to leading the wider product function is direct.

What Is Next -

We aim to reply to every application within three business days, and our interview process usually takes around three to four weeks. It is a short, practical process: a real conversation, an exercise that looks like the actual job rather than a brain teaser, and time with the people you would work beside, founders included. Tell us if you need more flexibility at any stage.

Our Take On Who Belongs Here -

Our team has a vision that spans several nationalities, time zones, and payment traditions, and we think that is exactly why we will make good calls in cross border payments. Whoever you are and wherever you are from, you are welcome to be yourself here.

Location: North America Remote/SF-Hybrid

Full-Time

About Andromeda

Andromeda Cluster was founded by Nat Friedman and Daniel Gross to give early-stage startups access to the kind of scaled AI infrastructure once reserved only for hyperscalers.

We began with a single managed cluster — but it filled almost instantly. Since then, we’ve been quietly building the systems, network, and orchestration layer that makes the world’s AI infrastructure more accessible.

Today, Andromeda works with leading AI labs, data centers, and cloud providers to deliver compute when and where it’s needed most. Our platform routes training and inference jobs across global supply, unlocking flexibility and efficiency in one of the fastest-growing markets on earth.

Our long-term vision is to build the liquidity layer for global AI compute. We are expanding to new frontiers to find the brightest that work in AI infrastructure, research and engineering.

The Role

This role owns our provider relationships on the technical side. You're the person who decides whether a provider's cluster is good enough to join the Andromeda network, and the person who helps them get there when it isn't. That means vetting prospective providers against our quality bar and then working alongside their engineers to bring their clusters onto the network cleanly.

You'll work closely with our compute procurement team to identify and qualify new providers, and you'll be the standing technical relationship with the providers we already have. When procurement finds a promising provider, you're the one who validates the claims. When a provider says their fabric is non-blocking and their nodes are burn-in tested, you're the one who verifies it by reviewing their evidence, and sometimes by running the tests yourself on their hardware.

The qualification bar you'll hold providers to mostly doesn't exist yet in written form. Some of it lives informally in how our SREs evaluate clusters today; much of it hasn't been defined at all. You'd be the first person in this role, so a large part of the job is building that bar: the acceptance test suite, the quality thresholds, and the technical standards a provider must meet. Then making them rigorous enough that we can trust them and clear enough that providers can build to them.

This role is the technical counterpart to our Provider Technical Program Manager, who owns delivery timelines, escalations, and incident command. You own the technical judgment: is this cluster ready, what's wrong with it, and what will it take to fix. During provider incidents, command and coordination sit with the program manager and technical response sits with our SREs. Your involvement is upstream, making sure clusters that would have caused those incidents never make it onto the network.

What You’ll Do

Vet prospective compute providers: assess cluster architecture, GPU hardware, network fabric, storage, and orchestration against Andromeda's quality metrics, and make the call on whether a cluster qualifies. Define the qualification bar itself. Build the acceptance test suite, benchmark methodology, and quality thresholds from scratch, formalizing what currently exists only as SRE tribal knowledge. Own and evolve these standards as the fleet and the market change. Run validation hands-on where it matters: burn-in testing, fabric validation (Infini Band/RoCE), NCCL and application-level benchmarks, storage performance testing. For routine or repeat validation, define the methodology and review results rather than executing everything yourself. Guide providers through technical onboarding: work directly with their data-center and platform engineers to remediate gaps, tune configurations, and bring clusters up to the bar on a predictable path. Partner with compute procurement to identify and qualify new providers. Perform technical due diligence during sourcing, and a clear read on how much remediation a candidate cluster needs before procurement commits. Build and maintain technical relationships with existing providers: you're the engineer their engineers call, and the one who spots architectural or quality drift before it becomes a customer problem. Feed what you learn back into provider-facing standards and internal documentation, so each qualification is faster and more consistent than the last.

What We’re Looking For

Deep HPC experience: you've designed, built, or operated GPU clusters at meaningful scale and understand what makes them fast, stable, and debuggable. Strong fabric knowledge, ideally both Infini Band and RoCE. You can evaluate a topology, interpret fabric diagnostics, and identify why a fabric underperforms, not just that it does. Experience with distributed orchestration and the HPC software stack: Slurm, Kubernetes, Open MPI or equivalent, and the Linux systems engineering underneath all of it. Data-center literacy: power, cooling, cabling, and physical-layer realities. You can walk a provider's facility and know what questions to ask. Benchmarking judgment. You know which numbers matter for large-scale training workloads, how providers game them, and how to design tests that can't be gamed. The ability to write standards others can build against: precise, testable, and usable by a provider's engineering team without you in the room. Credibility in the room with external engineering teams, including the ability to deliver a failing grade to a provider who wants your business, and keep the relationship intact. Comfort with ambiguity. You are responsible for onboarding them, tuning their jobs, and debugging their failures alongside them, while owning the infrastructure and automation that makes those clusters reliable in the first place.

Forward deployed means you spend real time inside customer environments: reading their training code, sitting in their Slack channels, watching their runs, and shipping fixes that land in our platform. Work inside customer environments to diagnose real failures: NCCL timeouts, stragglers, checkpoint I/O stalls, degraded links, OOM patterns, container and driver mismatches. Read their code when you need to. Reproduce, isolate, fix, and write it down. Profile and improve distributed training performance on live workloads. Improving MFU, cutting idle GPU time, and reducing time-to-first-successful-run for new deployments. Own reliability outcomes for the accounts you're deployed on. Ensure the health and performance of high-speed interconnects (Infini Band, RoCE, NVLink) that underpin distributed training. Diagnose and resolve fabric-level issues that degrade collective operations. Build deep visibility into GPU utilization, memory pressure, interconnect throughput, job performance, and hardware health. Turn every repeated deployment problem into automation: cluster provisioning, GPU health checks and burn-in, preflight validation, self-healing, firmware/driver lifecycle management, and reusable reference configurations for common training and serving stacks. Lead incident response for complex, multi-layer failures spanning hardware, networking, orchestration, and ML frameworks. Own the customer-facing communication during the incident and the blameless postmortem and systemic fix after it. You will see our rough edges before anyone else does. Bring that signal back to influence the roadmap, file the hard bugs, and build the missing pieces yourself when that's the fastest path.

What We’re Looking For

Hands-on experience operating GPU clusters in production (NVIDIA A100/H100/H200/B200 or equivalent). You understand GPU memory hierarchies, ECC behavior, thermal throttling, and hardware failure modes from direct experience. Production experience with Infini Band, RoCE, or NVLink fabrics in the context of distributed training. You can diagnose why an all-reduce is slow, identify a degraded link in a fat-tree topology, and reason about congestion control at scale. Working knowledge of how large training and inference jobs actually run. You don't need to design models, but you need to understand what's happening at the systems level when a large run stalls. Expert-level Linux experience: kernel tuning, driver management (NVIDIA drivers, CUDA toolkit), cgroup/namespace internals, container runtimes, and performance profiling at the syscall and hardware level. Strong experience running Kubernetes in production with GPU workloads. Experience with device plugins, topology-aware scheduling, multi-cluster, custom operators. Experience with Slurm or other HPC schedulers is equally valued. Strong engineering skills in Python, Go, or Bash. You build production-grade tools and services, not just scripts. Infrastructure-as-Code proficiency (Terraform, Helm, Ansible, or equivalent). Hands-on experience building monitoring and alerting for GPU-specific telemetry (DCGM, nvidia-smi, fabric manager metrics) integrated into actionable dashboards. You can go deep on architecture with a customer's infra team and clearly articulate tradeoffs to their leadership.
