We are seeking an experienced and highly hands-on Farm Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day operation, maintenance and development of a private farm in the UAE.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the farm is maintained and operated to a consistently high standard, covering agricultural activities, landscaping, irrigation, equipment, infrastructure, staff and external contractors.
This is a hands-on management position requiring a practical individual who is comfortable working directly on site, identifying problems independently and ensuring they are resolved promptly.
The Farm Manager will be expected to take ownership of the operation rather than simply supervise it.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the overall day-to-day operation of the farm and ensure that all areas are properly maintained.
• Plan, supervise and monitor agricultural activities, planting, cultivation, harvesting and general land management, where applicable.
• Monitor the condition of plants, trees, landscaping and agricultural areas and identify irrigation, pest, disease or soil-related issues.
• Manage and monitor irrigation systems, pumps, water tanks, wells and associated equipment, ensuring efficient use of water.
• Oversee farm machinery, vehicles, tools and equipment, including preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Monitor farm buildings, storage areas, staff facilities, fencing, roads and other infrastructure.
• Manage farm workers and other on-site personnel, including allocation of daily duties, attendance, productivity and performance.
• Recruit or recommend additional labour when required and ensure proper supervision and training.
• Manage suppliers, contractors and service providers and ensure work is completed correctly and at reasonable cost.
• Obtain and compare quotations for materials, equipment, repairs and other farm requirements.
• Maintain appropriate stocks of tools, spare parts, fertilizers, agricultural products and other operational supplies.
• Maintain accurate records of farm activities, purchases, maintenance, inventory and operational expenditure.
• Prepare regular updates for management regarding the condition of the farm, ongoing works, problems identified and actions taken.
• Identify potential operational or maintenance issues before they become significant problems and take appropriate corrective action.
• Ensure appropriate health, safety, hygiene and environmental standards are maintained throughout the farm.
• Where livestock or animals are present, coordinate their daily care, feeding, welfare, accommodation and veterinary requirements.
• Support improvements and development projects relating to the farm, including new planting, landscaping, irrigation, infrastructure or facilities.
• Be available to respond to urgent operational matters when necessary.

Candidate Requirements
• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant farm management or senior agricultural operations experience, preferably including experience in the UAE or GCC.
• Demonstrable practical experience managing a farm or substantial agricultural property.
• Strong knowledge of irrigation, agriculture, landscaping, farm machinery and general maintenance.
• Experience managing farm workers and contractors.
• Ability to diagnose practical problems and organise solutions independently.
• Good understanding of purchasing, supplier management and cost control.
• Ability to maintain clear records and provide concise reports to management.
• Good spoken and written English.
• UAE driving licence preferred.
• Agricultural qualification, diploma or degree would be an advantage, but strong practical experience is more important than academic qualifications.
Personal Profile
• We are looking for someone who is:
• Hands-on, practical and proactive
• Highly organised and reliable
• Comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Cost-conscious and careful with company resources
• Capable of managing both workers and external contractors
• Attentive to detail and preventative maintenance
• Flexible regarding working hours when operational requirements demand it
Important
This role is not purely administrative. The Farm Manager is expected to be regularly present throughout the property, inspect the farm personally, understand what is happening on the ground and take direct responsibility for ensuring that issues are addressed.
Previous experience managing a farm in a hot/arid climate and familiarity with UAE agricultural and irrigation conditions will be strongly preferred.
