<p>Citi’s Middle East and Africa (MEA) Investment Banking team is seeking a highly motivated <b>Junior or Senior Associate — effectively Associate 2 or Associate 3 level — to join us in our Dubai office</b>. The role will support the execution of a broad range of investment banking transactions and new business development initiatives across the <b>Middle East and Africa region</b>, working closely with senior bankers, clients, product partners and external advisors.</p><br><br><br><p>The successful candidate will be expected to contribute across M&A, equity capital markets, debt capital markets and strategic advisory assignments, with exposure to a diverse set of sectors, geographies and client types across MEA. The ideal candidate will have a prior investment banking background with strong analytical and execution capabilities, excellent communication skills, sound judgement, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-border investment banking environment.</p><br><br><br><br><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><br><br><br><p>As an Associate in the Middle East and Africa Investment Banking team, you will play an important role in transaction execution, client coverage and business development, including but not limited to:</p><br><br><br><ul><li><b>Transaction Execution:</b> Support and help manage the day-to-day execution of M&A, equity capital markets, debt capital markets and other strategic advisory transactions across the Middle East and Africa, working closely with clients, senior bankers, product teams and external advisors.</li><li><b>Financial Analysis & Modelling:</b> Build and review detailed financial models, valuation analyses, DCFs, precedent transaction analyses, comparable company analyses and other quantitative workstreams to support live mandates and business development efforts.</li><li><b>Presentation & Documentation:</b> Prepare high-quality client materials, including pitch books, management presentations, information memoranda, valuation materials, board presentations and other transaction-related documentation.</li><li><b>Client Interaction:</b> Participate in client meetings and transaction workstreams, support due diligence processes, coordinate drafting sessions and help manage information flow across deal teams and stakeholders.</li><li><b>Business Development Support:</b> Assist senior bankers in identifying, originating and pursuing new business opportunities, including market mapping, company research, sector analysis, investor analysis and preparation of strategic discussion materials.</li><li><b>Cross-Border Coordination:</b> Work with regional and global Citi teams across investment banking, capital markets, corporate banking and product partners to deliver integrated solutions to clients across MEA.</li><li><b>Team Contribution & Mentorship:</b> Support the development of junior analysts through day-to-day guidance, review of work product and knowledge sharing, while contributing to a collaborative and high-performance team culture.</li><li><b>Market Insight:</b> Develop and maintain a strong understanding of macroeconomic trends, capital markets activity, regulatory developments, sector dynamics and competitive trends across the Middle East and Africa.</li></ul><br><p><b>Required Qualifications</b></p><br><br><br><ul><li><b>Experience:</b> Typically <b>3–5 years of relevant experience</b>, ideally within investment banking at a bulge bracket, international investment bank or leading regional investment bank.</li><li><b>Education:</b> Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering or another relevant quantitative discipline from a strong academic institution. A Master’s degree, MBA or relevant professional qualification is considered a plus.</li><li><b>Technical Skills:</b> Strong financial modelling, valuation and corporate finance skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Ability to produce accurate, thoughtful and well-structured analytical work under time pressure.</li><li><b>Execution Capability:</b> Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams, coordinate across teams, meet deadlines and maintain strong attention to detail in a demanding transaction environment.</li><li><b>Market Knowledge:</b> Good understanding of investment banking products and financial markets. Prior exposure to the Middle East, Africa, GCC or broader emerging markets is highly desirable.</li><li><b>Communication Skills:</b> Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential. This site-based role requires strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, practical construction supervision experience, and the ability to monitor day-to-day installation activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project objectives.</p><br><p>The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supervising mechanical installations on large-scale building, infrastructure, industrial, or mission-critical projects, preferably including data center or technically complex construction environments.</p><br><p>You will play a key role in monitoring contractor performance, supervising mechanical installation activities, supporting inspections, identifying site issues, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring mechanical works are completed in line with project quality, safety, and schedule expectations.</p><br>RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>Supervise day-to-day mechanical and MEP installation activities on site, ensuring works are performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.</li><li>Monitor mechanical works, including HVAC systems, chilled water systems, ductwork, piping, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, pumps, valves, mechanical plant equipment, and related MEP installations.</li><li>Conduct and support site inspections to verify installation quality, progress, workmanship, and compliance with project standards.</li><li>Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, MEP engineers, consultants, QA/QC teams, HSE teams, commissioning teams, and project management representatives.</li><li>Review daily mechanical site activities and ensure manpower, materials, equipment, tools, and work fronts are properly coordinated.</li><li>Monitor contractor progress against approved schedules, look-ahead plans, installation sequences, and daily work targets.</li><li>Identify installation issues, coordination gaps, access constraints, quality concerns, and construction risks, escalating matters to project leadership when required.</li><li>Support inspection readiness by coordinating with QA/QC teams and ensuring mechanical works are ready for inspection, testing, and approval.</li><li>Verify that mechanical installation works are completed in compliance with approved inspection and test plans, quality procedures, and applicable codes and standards.</li><li>Monitor site safety practices and ensure mechanical activities are carried out in accordance with project HSE requirements.</li><li>Review and comment on mechanical method statements, shop drawings, material deliveries, inspection requests, test packs, and site documentation as required.</li><li>Assist in resolving technical queries, RFIs, design clarifications, coordination clashes, and site issues related to mechanical and MEP works.</li><li>Maintain accurate daily site records, including progress updates, manpower reports, inspection status, site observations, constraints, and issue logs.</li><li>Support the preparation of progress reports, site updates, punch lists, NCR follow-up, testing records, and closeout documentation.</li><li>Coordinate mechanical works with civil, structural, architectural, electrical, ICT/ELV, controls, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure proper interface management.</li><li>Support pre-commissioning, testing, commissioning, handover, snagging, and closeout activities for mechanical systems.</li><li>Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability, and timely issue resolution across site activities.</li><li>Perform other related duties as required and assigned.</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONSRequired qualifications:<ul><li><strong>15+ years</strong> of experience in mechanical supervision, MEP installation supervision, site engineering, construction supervision, inspection, or mechanical construction management within large-scale building, infrastructure, industrial, or mission-critical projects.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in <strong>Mechanical Engineering</strong>.</li><li>Strong experience supervising and inspecting MEP and mechanical installation works on active construction sites.</li><li>Solid understanding of mechanical construction methods, installation sequencing, inspection requirements, quality standards, and site execution practices.</li><li>Experience supervising mechanical systems such as HVAC, chilled water, ductwork, piping, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, pumps, valves, and mechanical plant equipment.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, MEP coordination drawings, specifications, method statements, shop drawings, inspection requests, test reports, and technical documentation.</li><li>Experience coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, QA/QC teams, HSE teams, commissioning teams, and multidisciplinary project teams.</li><li>Ability to monitor progress, identify installation delays or site constraints, and support corrective actions.</li><li>Strong awareness of site quality control, inspection processes, testing requirements, NCR follow-up, punch list management, and handover requirements.</li><li>Good understanding of construction safety practices and the ability to reinforce safe working conditions on site.</li><li>Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and ability to manage daily site priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.</li></ul>Preferred qualifications:<ul><li>Experience working on <strong>data center</strong>, mission-critical, industrial, infrastructure, or large-scale commercial building projects.</li><li>Previous experience working in Dubai, the UAE, or the wider GCC region.</li><li>Experience working in a PMC, consultant, owner’s representative, or client-side supervision environment.</li><li>Familiarity with UAE authority requirements, local construction regulations, and international construction standards.</li><li>Knowledge of data center mechanical infrastructure, including chilled water systems, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers, pumps, valves, BMS interfaces, and commissioning requirements.</li><li>Familiarity with
