Job Title: AI Narrative Performance Specialist — AI Characters & Digital Humans (1 Position)<br><br>About the Job<br><br>We are seeking a creative and technically curious AI Narrative Performance Specialist to help define how AI characters, digital humans and virtual characters perform, communicate and express narrative intent through interactive experiences.<br><br>The successful candidate will work at the intersection of narrative design, character performance, conversational AI and generative technologies. The role focuses on translating character identities, story objectives, emotional states and dramatic situations into believable AI-driven performance across dialogue, voice, timing, behavior and multimodal expression.<br><br>This is a hands-on interdisciplinary position working closely with narrative designers, writers, AI specialists, conversational designers, character designers, voice and performance teams, animators, UX/UI designers and developers to create AI characters that can perform consistently while adapting naturally to users and changing narrative situations.<br><br>Responsibilities<br><br>Develop narrative performance frameworks for AI characters, digital humans and virtual characters.<br><br>Translate character profiles, story objectives, emotional states and dramatic situations into practical AI performance requirements.<br><br>Design how AI characters communicate narrative intent through dialogue, tone, pacing, pauses, reactions, behavior and interaction.<br><br>Develop performance guidelines covering voice, speech patterns, timing, emotional expression, facial expression, gaze, gesture, posture and movement.<br><br>Create and refine prompts, system instructions, behavioral rules, scenarios, examples and evaluation criteria that guide AI character performance.<br><br>Design performance behavior for scripted, semi-scripted, interactive, adaptive and emergent narrative experiences.<br><br>Collaborate with writers and narrative designers to ensure that character performance supports story structure, dramatic objectives and character development.<br><br>Work with conversational AI teams to design natural and context-sensitive dialogue performance, including turn-taking, interruption, hesitation, clarification, disagreement and emotional responses.<br><br>Define how characters should respond to changing emotional, social and narrative circumstances.<br><br>Develop performance strategies for AI characters dealing with unexpected user questions, unconventional actions, conflict, ambiguity and emotionally sensitive situations.<br><br>Coordinate narrative performance across language, voice, facial animation, body movement, gestures and other multimodal character expressions.<br><br>Work with voice actors, performance specialists, motion capture teams and animators when human performance is used to develop or guide digital character behavior.<br><br>Prototype character performances through role-play, dialogue simulations, scene rehearsals and interactive AI testing.<br><br>Evaluate AI-generated performances for narrative clarity, emotional coherence, character consistency, responsiveness, timing and dramatic effectiveness.<br><br>Analyze character interactions and identify problems such as inappropriate tone, emotional inconsistency, repetitive behavior, personality drift or loss of narrative context.<br><br>Develop test scenarios and evaluation methods for character performance across different users, situations and narrative paths.<br><br>Help establish continuity between a character's previous experiences, current state and future behavior.<br><br>Collaborate with technical teams to integrate narrative performance requirements into real-time digital character systems.<br><br>Document performance standards, character behaviors, interaction patterns, test results and improvement methodologies.<br><br>Research emerging techniques in generative AI, conversational agents, AI characters, digital humans, voice AI, multimodal interaction and interactive storytelling.<br><br>Qualifications<br><br>Minimum BA/MA in Theatre, Acting, Performance Studies, Directing, Film, Creative Writing, Narrative Design, Game Design, Interactive Media, Digital Media, HCI, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field; software integration, health informatics, or enterprise application architecture.</span></li><li><span>Minimum of three (3) years in a senior integration architect, technical lead, interface architect, or equivalent healthcare technology role.</span></li><li><span>Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise healthcare interfaces using HL7, FHIR, DICOM, APIs, and interface-engine technologies.</span></li><li><span>Experience integrating Electronic Medical Records with laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, cardiology, medical devices, finance, patient portals, and external health information exchange platforms.</span></li><li><span>Proven experience in integration architecture, technical design, system implementation, data migration, testing, production support, and incident resolution.</span></li><li><span>Experience with Oracle Health/Cerner or another major enterprise Electronic Medical Record platform is highly preferred.</span></li><li><span>Experience supporting DHA, NABIDH, JCI, data privacy, cybersecurity, and healthcare information governance requirements is preferred.</span></li><li><span>Experience within a tertiary, multi-site, or JCI-accredited healthcare organization is highly desirable.</span></li><li><span>Demonstrated ability to lead vendors, technical teams, analysts, and
