The Opportunity
We are looking for a bold, entrepreneurial Chief Executive Officer to lead our company from Dubai and shape the next chapter of its growth. We operate at the heart of the value chain that serves retail and food-service players — connecting products, brands, and distribution to supermarkets, convenience, HORECA, and food-service operators across the region. We want a leader who thinks beyond the obvious: someone who can reinvent the way we create value for our customers, open new markets and channels, and build a company that is as agile as it is ambitious.
The Mandate Vision & strategy: Own the vision: define and drive a clear, ambitious strategy for a business serving retail and food-service customers. Growth & P&L: Deliver sustainable revenue, margin, and cash-flow growth while building long-term enterprise value. Reinvention: Think out of the box: identify new business models, channels, partnerships, categories, and revenue streams beyond the current core. Leadership: Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing executive team and a winning company culture. Stakeholders: Represent the company to the board, shareholders, key customers, suppliers, and partners.
Key Responsibilities Set the overall strategic direction and translate it into clear, measurable business plans and targets. Own full P&L responsibility — revenue growth, profitability, cost discipline, and capital allocation. Strengthen and expand relationships with retail chains, distributors, and food-service / HORECA customers. Drive commercial excellence across sales, pricing, category, and route-to-market strategy. Lead operational and supply-chain performance to ensure service, quality, and efficiency at scale. Identify and execute growth opportunities: new markets, new channels, partnerships, M&A, and innovation. Build, mentor, and hold accountable a strong executive leadership team. Shape a performance-driven, entrepreneurial, and customer-obsessed culture. Ensure sound governance, risk management, and compliance across all operations. Report transparently to the board on performance, risks, and strategic progress.
Required Experience & Background Experience: Minimum 10 years of professional experience, with a strong track record of increasing leadership responsibility. Executive tenure: At least 4 years in a CEO, General Manager, or equivalent top-executive role. Industry: Proven experience in, or serving, the retail and/or food-service sectors (FMCG, distribution, food supply, or related B2B). P&L track record: Demonstrated success growing revenue, profitability, and enterprise value. Business acumen: Strong commercial, financial, and operational acumen. Language: Fluent English with excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills. Education: Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.
Advantage (Not Mandatory) Knowledge of the UAE / GCC market, customers, and business environment. Existing network across regional retail, distribution, and food-service players. Arabic language skills. Experience scaling a business, entering new markets, or leading transformation / turnaround.
Leadership Profile — What Sets You Apart
Visionary yet hands-on: you set bold direction and stay close to execution. Creative and unconventional: you challenge the status quo and see opportunities others miss. Decisive under uncertainty, with strong judgement and a bias for action. Inspiring communicator who builds trust with teams, customers, and the board. Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving regional market.

As the strategic link between Gate and the most sophisticated market participants globally, you'll build the institutional infrastructure that powers our liquidity, trading volume, and market positioning.
Responsibilities Source, pitch, and onboard institutional clients — Market Makers, HFTs, Brokers, and Asset Managers — building a high-conversion pipeline that directly drives platform liquidity and revenue. Lead commercial negotiations end-to-end: fee structures, rebate schemes, and liquidity arrangements — partnering cross-functionally to optimise execution and outcomes. Own the full lifecycle of Gate's key institutional relationships, ensuring depth, durability, and consistent growth in trading engagement. Identify and unlock expansion opportunities within the existing institutional client base — boosting retention, trading volume, and the scope of strategic cooperation. A proven track record of bringing in and closing institutional clients: market makers, funds, brokers, and similar sophisticated counterparties. Demonstrated ability to manage and grow large institutional accounts, with measurable impact on revenue or trading volume. Strong command of trading products across spot, derivatives, and structured offerings. A self-starter mindset: high ownership, strong execution, and a bias for action. Excellent communication and presentation skills — you can command a room and close a deal. Fluency in English and Mandarin required for internal and external communications.
Why Gate Full ownership, real impact. You'll run the institutional client lifecycle end-to-end — from first conversation to long-term partnership — with direct visibility into volume and revenue outcomes. Tier-one counterparties. Work alongside and negotiate with the best: market makers, HFT firms, hedge funds, and global brokers. Commercial depth. Get hands-on with deal structuring, fee negotiations, and liquidity strategy at a scale few roles offer. Unmatched product breadth. A platform spanning spot, derivatives, and structured products gives you the firepower to meet institutional clients where they are. Scale with us. Gate is growing fast — and so is this team. Step in now and help define what institutional coverage looks like at one of the world's leading exchanges.
We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
