<p>We are looking for a talented Chef with a strong background in pastry to join our team in Dubai. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded chef who has built their craft in 4- and 5-star hotels and brings particular strength and creativity in pastry, desserts, and baked goods. Our partner is looking for an AI Research Engineer (Kernel & Inference Optimization) based in United Arab Emirates.<br><br></strong>You will work at the intersection of AI research, systems engineering, and high-performance model inference.<br><br>Your focus will be on developing and optimizing model-serving architectures for advanced AI systems across a range of hardware environments.<br><br>You will tackle challenges involving latency, throughput, memory efficiency, and scalability, including deployment on resource-constrained mobile and edge devices.<br><br>The role combines hands-on research with low-level engineering, giving you the opportunity to develop novel inference strategies and GPU kernels.<br><br>You will work with complex architectures spanning text, image, audio, diffusion models, and vision transformers.<br><br>Your work will involve rigorous benchmarking, production testing, and iterative optimization to translate research into measurable performance improvements.<br><br>You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in a highly technical, remote environment focused on pushing the boundaries of efficient AI systems.<br><br>Accountabilities<br><br><ul><li>Design and deploy advanced model-serving architectures optimized for high throughput, low latency, and efficient memory utilization.</li><li>Develop inference pipelines capable of operating effectively across diverse environments, including resource-constrained mobile devices and edge platforms.</li><li>Establish clear performance targets covering response latency, token generation speed, throughput, memory footprint, and reliability.</li><li>Build and execute controlled inference benchmarks in simulated and production environments, tracking latency, throughput, memory consumption, and error rates.</li><li>Create and maintain representative datasets and simulation scenarios for evaluating model performance under real-world and resource-constrained conditions.</li><li>Identify computational and memory bottlenecks across inference pipelines and implement solutions involving batching, networking, memory management, and other system-level optimizations.</li><li>Develop custom GPU kernels and compute shaders for mobile hardware, including solutions written in Metal Shading Language (MSL).</li><li>Apply advanced inference optimization techniques such as pruning, quantization, Flash Attention, KV caching, and speculative decoding.</li><li>Design and optimize distributed inference systems using approaches such as tensor parallelism, pipeline parallelism, and expert parallelism for large-scale GPU workloads.</li><li>Work with cross-functional engineering and research teams to integrate optimized inference frameworks into production and edge-device applications.</li><li>Define evaluation methodologies, document experimental results, compare performance against established benchmarks, and continuously refine optimization strategies.</li><li>Monitor production performance and use empirical research to identify opportunities for further improvements in scalability, efficiency, and reliability.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Requirements<br><br></strong><ul><li>Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; <span><br>POSITION SUMMARY<br>Respond and attend to guest repair requests. Communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues with little to no supervision. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Carry equipment (e.g., tools, radio). Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment. Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed. Assure each day’s activities and problems that occur are communicated to the other shifts using approved communication programs and standards. Display advanced ability to read standard blue prints and electrical schematics concerning plumbing and HVAC. Display above average engineering operations skills and strong general mechanical ability. Display proficiency in at least three of the following categories, above average skills in three more of the following categories and basic skills in the remaining categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building management. Display solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks. Safely perform highly complex repairs of the physical property, electrical, plumbing and mechanical equipment, air conditioners, refrigeration and pool heaters - ensuring all methods, materials and practices meet company standards and Local and National codes - with little or no supervision. Troubleshoot and perform repairs on all types of equipment (e.g., pump and motor replacement), plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains), electrical equipment including lamps, air conditioners, HVAC equipment, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and outlets, and program TV's. Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work. Display advanced knowledge of all engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance, energy management, and other systems, including devices that interact with such programs. Perform advanced troubleshooting of hotel Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. Display the ability to train and mentor other engineers as necessary. Display ability to perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and rounds.<br>Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and properly store flammable materials. Ensure uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
