<p>New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for a Junior Research Scientist to join an exciting multidisciplinary research program investigating the environmental and ecological drivers of productive fishing grounds in the United Arab Emirates.</p><br><br>
<p>Working in partnership with Emirates Nature–WWF and government stakeholders, the successful candidate will support marine ecological surveys, fisheries monitoring, and environmental assessments that will contribute to evidence-based fisheries management and habitat restoration.</p><br><br>
<p>The Junior Research Scientist will become part of a multidisciplinary team undertaking ecological field surveys, environmental monitoring, habitat assessments, and fisheries research throughout the UAE. The role combines regular fieldwork with laboratory and data analysis, providing opportunities to contribute to applied research that directly supports marine conservation and sustainable fisheries management.</p><br><br>
<p>Working closely with researchers from Mubadala ACCESS, the successful candidate will assist with the collection, processing, analysis, and interpretation of biological and environmental data, while contributing to technical reports, scientific publications, and stakeholder outputs.</p><br><br>
<p>Responsibilities include supporting marine field surveys, including fish community assessments, benthic habitat monitoring, underwater visual surveys, and environmental sampling. The successful candidate will assist with the deployment and maintenance of environmental monitoring equipment, process biological and environmental samples, maintain accurate field records, and contribute to data management and preliminary statistical analyses.</p><br><br>
<p>The Junior Research Scientist will also participate in laboratory activities, support field logistics and equipment preparation, contribute to technical reports and scientific publications, and assist with workshops and stakeholder engagement activities as required.</p><br><br>
<p>Applicants must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marine Biology, Marine Science, Fisheries Science, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline. Master's with less than 5 years of research experience in the relevant field, or a Bachelor's degree with any level of experience.</p><br><br>
<p>The ideal candidate will have experience participating in marine field surveys and collecting biological or environmental data. Experience with coral reef or fisheries monitoring, SCUBA diving certification, and proficiency in statistical software such as R are highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a willingness to undertake regular fieldwork in challenging marine environments.</p><br><br>

Escalate any settlement issues / discrepancies to VP Validate and Sign any vouchers that need to be passed for FX / Cash execution for review by the VP<br>Position / Cash Management: Review clients’ positions and holdings daily and reconcile positions with sub-custodians and market to ensure there are no discrepancies. Escalate any discrepancies to VP.</li><li> Daily review of client’s cash positions to ensure all clients have appropriate funding and escalating to VP and Middle Office any potential over drafts or if client is at risk of being insufficient.</li><li>SWIFTS: Validate swift instructions inputted by officer / another specialist into the system for VP to Authorize. Second Level of SWIFT generation process<br>Reconciliation: Second level of reconciliation ensuring all appropriate checks are done to ensure there are no discrepancies and escalating any issues to the VP.</li><li>Ad Hoc Requests: Supporting the VP as required for business-as-usual matters and projects and initiatives<br>Risk Indicators: Responsible to ensure controls and procedures are being adhered to by the section.
