<p>Our Global Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced consultant Assistant Resident Engineer / Asst PM to join their team in Al Ain to work on new build projects in the Emirate. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a consultant ARE / APM on civil construction and fit out projects in the UAE or the wider GCC region and will have worked for a recognised engineering consultancy or PMC company previously. This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 3 month contract position employed as outsourced staff through J10 Consulting. Key Responsibilities: The Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) will support the Resident Engineer in overseeing the construction and handover of base build and interior projects including associated architectural, civil, structural, MEP interface works. The role ensures that all works are executed in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, contract requirements, quality standards, safety regulations, and client expectations. Site Inspections & Risk Management&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li><p>Conduct daily site inspections and safety audits.&nbsp;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.&nbsp;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Carry out risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).&nbsp;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Monitor high-risk activities (lifting, working at height, confined space).&nbsp;&nbsp;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify hazards&nbsp;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Monitor Permit to Work (PTW) system implementation&nbsp;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Maintain safety documentation and records&nbsp;</p></li></ul><br><p><strong>3. Training & Awareness&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li><p>Conduct toolbox talks and safety inductions.&nbsp;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Promote safety awareness campaigns and initiatives.&nbsp;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Guide supervisors and workers on safe practices.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)&nbsp;</p><br></li></ul><p>4. <strong>Incident Management & Reporting</strong>&nbsp;</p><ul><li><p>Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses.&nbsp;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Prepare incident reports and recommend corrective actions.&nbsp;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Maintain HSE records and documentation.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><br></li></ul><p>5. <strong>Emergency Preparedness</strong>&nbsp;</p><ul><li><p>Ensure emergency procedures are in place and understood.&nbsp;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Participate in emergency drills and response planning.&nbsp;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Coordinate with first aiders and emergency teams.&nbsp;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Additional responsibilities as assigned by the line manager.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Stop unsafe work activities when required&nbsp;</p></li></ul><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><ul><li><p>Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.</p></li><li><p><strong>Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health (ADOSH)</strong> registration is mandatory </p></li><li><p>NEBOSH IGC or equivalent is mandatory.</p></li><li><p>Strong knowledge of building construction safety practices in the UAE.</p></li><li><p>Risk assessment and hazard identification skills.</p></li><li><p>Investigation and reporting skills.</p></li><li><p>Good communication and training skills.</p></li><li><p>Ability to conduct training and toolbox talks.</p></li><li><p>Good documentation and reporting skills.</p></li><li><p>Leadership and problem-solving ability.</p></li></ul>
