This electrical product focused team is a part of a global engineering team, responsible for the design and continuous innovation for products used within our rapidly expanding data center foot print.<br>The Electrical Product Engineering team at Amazon works to design and develop resilient, cost-effective electrical distribution products and systems. As an engineer at Amazon, you have the ability to drive change and define/design the systems our customers rely on.<br>We are seeking a Product Design Engineer with an Electrical Engineering background with hands-on experience in new product design and development of electrical power distribution equipment such as Low Voltage Switchgear, Power Distribution Cabinets or LV panel boards. If you can design electrical power distribution product/s and equipment, help to test and successfully test the products per latest codes and standards using third party test laboratories then you will be a good fit. You will directly lead product design and development and be a part of the process from concept to implementation. You must be capable of defining equipment specifications and evaluating the merit of design changes. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion. <br>Key job responsibilities<br>- Supports the Data Center Design Engineering, Principal Engineering, and Hardware Engineering teams to design and develop innovative concepts into new products needed for power distribution for data center.<br>- Lead new product design, development and work with internal teams to understand design requirements and solicit customer input.<br>- Collaborate with other disciplines such as mechanical and structural engineering, reliability, QA/QC and compliance to create well thought out products.<br>- Creation of designs which meet or exceed our quality requirements while delivering a return on investment.<br>- Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to specify appropriate electrical equipment, devices and bill of materials.<br>- Ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes across different countries.<br>- Prepare, Review and approval of product design and drawings including electrical bill of materials, configuration, layouts, assembly, construction and electrical wiring drawings.<br>- Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to, and during manufacturing phases.<br>- Work with field engineering and commissioning teams to properly set up test processes and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical products.<br>- Ability to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.<br>- Support of Operations including failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting support, and operating procedure review.<br>- Be a leader within the group as well as within internal and external teams that support the data center.<br>- Having fun while offering creative, out of the box solutions.<br>A day in the life<br>As a Senior Product Design Engineer, you'll focus on developing electrical power distribution products and systems that support our expanding data center operations. Your day might include reviewing design specifications with internal stakeholders to understand evolving requirements, collaborating with mechanical and structural engineers to refine product concepts, or coordinating with third-party testing laboratories to validate that designs meet the latest codes and standards. You'll also work with global suppliers to evaluate equipment options, prepare detailed electrical drawings and bills of materials, and support field teams during installation and commissioning. This is a rare, high-impact role at the intersection of Finance, Technology, Data and AI created to act as the Finance technical expert on the enterprise-wide rollout of a next-generation, AI-enabled EPM platform, provide senior Finance input to the redesign of the Group's ERP and Finance data structures, champion the embedding of AI across planning and analysis, and over time assume ownership of the global FP&A processes.
