Day to day
As Pastry Commis I, you will assist in Pastry Chef in managing all functions of the Pastry Kitchen operations to achieve the optimum quality level of food production in a large full-service, luxury, or resort hotel with multiple major food and beverage outlets and banquet facilities with the capacity to cater to more than 500 people. Some of your main role responsibilities are:
Support Pastry Chef to manage all functions of the Pastry Kitchen operations to achieve optimum departmental profit
Support Pastry Chef to manage all functions of the Pastry Kitchen operations to achieve the optimum quality level of food production and sanitation
Support Pastry Chef for special events and special food promotions
Support Pastry Chef to implement recipes and maintains up-dated and accurate costing of all dishes prepared and sold in the Food and Beverage operation
Support Pastry Chef to implement new dishes and products
Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we're looking for:
Completion of a degree or certificate in culinary arts
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Chef, or equivalent combination of education and pastry kitchen operations experience.
Vast knowledge of pastry/bakery practices, menus, and offerings
Knowledge of written and verbal Business English
