Role Description We are seeking a technically skilled, analytical, and safety-focused Petroleum Engineer to support the exploration, development, production, optimization, and management of oil and gas resources. The successful candidate will apply engineering principles, geological data, reservoir information, production technologies, and advanced analytical methods to improve hydrocarbon recovery, operational efficiency, asset performance, and resource utilization. Key responsibilities include evaluating reservoir and production data to support field development and optimization strategies; analyzing well performance, pressure behavior, fluid properties, production trends, and reservoir characteristics; supporting drilling, completion, stimulation, workover, and well intervention activities; developing and evaluating well designs, production strategies, artificial lift systems, completion methods, and reservoir management plans; conducting production forecasting, decline curve analysis, material balance calculations, nodal analysis, and performance evaluations; monitoring production rates, pressure data, water and gas cuts, and other operational parameters to identify optimization opportunities; collaborating with geologists, geophysicists, drilling engineers, completion engineers, production engineers, reservoir engineers, facility engineers, and operations teams to develop integrated field solutions; evaluating enhanced oil recovery (EOR), secondary recovery, water injection, gas injection, hydraulic fracturing, stimulation, and other recovery technologies; supporting well integrity, flow assurance, pressure management, and production surveillance activities; analyzing operational risks and recommending engineering solutions that improve reliability, safety, environmental performance, and production efficiency; developing technical reports, engineering studies, production forecasts, field development plans, and performance presentations; evaluating equipment, technologies, contractors, and service solutions related to petroleum operations; using reservoir simulation, production modeling, data analytics, digital oilfield technologies, and artificial intelligence to improve decision-making and asset performance; supporting economic evaluations, capital planning, project assessments, and resource development decisions; ensuring engineering activities comply with applicable health, safety, environmental, regulatory, and industry requirements; supporting operational troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for production and well performance issues; and staying informed about emerging petroleum technologies, digital oilfield solutions, carbon management, energy transition technologies, and modern hydrocarbon recovery practices. The Petroleum Engineer is expected to combine strong engineering knowledge with analytical thinking, technical judgment, and a commitment to operational safety and efficiency. Success in this role requires problem-solving abilities, teamwork, communication, attention to detail, adaptability, and a continuous focus on optimizing resource recovery and asset performance. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Strong understanding of petroleum engineering principles, reservoir behavior, drilling, well completion, production operations, artificial lift, and hydrocarbon recovery. Knowledge of reservoir engineering concepts including pressure analysis, material balance, fluid properties, reservoir simulation, reserves estimation, and production forecasting. Familiarity with drilling and completion operations, well design, stimulation, hydraulic fracturing, workover activities, and well intervention technologies. Understanding of production engineering concepts including nodal analysis, artificial lift, well performance optimization, flow assurance, and production surveillance. Familiarity with petroleum engineering software and analytical platforms such as Petrel, Eclipse, PIPESIM, PROSPER, GAP, OFM, CMG, Well Flo, or equivalent technologies. Strong data analysis capabilities with knowledge of production databases, engineering modeling, statistical analysis, and technical reporting. Understanding of enhanced oil recovery (EOR), water flooding, gas injection, secondary and tertiary recovery methods is advantageous. Knowledge of well integrity, pressure control, flow assurance, corrosion management, and production optimization is beneficial. Strong analytical, numerical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written, verbal, technical presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including geology, geophysics, drilling, completions, facilities, operations, and HSE professionals. Strong understanding of health, safety, environmental, regulatory, and risk management principles within petroleum operations. Knowledge of digital oilfield technologies, industrial automation, IoT, machine learning, artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, and real-time production monitoring is advantageous. Familiarity with energy transition technologies such as carbon capture and storage (CCS), hydrogen, geothermal energy, emissions monitoring, and low-carbon operations is beneficial. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple engineering studies, projects, operational priorities, and technical deliverables. High level of professionalism, technical integrity, safety awareness, attention to detail, and commitment to operational excellence. Professional certifications or memberships with recognized engineering or petroleum organizations are considered advantageous but are not mandatory. Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying informed about petroleum technologies, reservoir management, drilling innovations, digital oilfield solutions, energy markets, environmental developments, and global energy industry practices.
