Head of Operations (Dubai Branch)<br>Role Objective<br>The incumbent will be responsible for leading and overseeing all Branch Operations, Trade Finance Operations, Technology Services, Customer Service Support, Cash Management, Regulatory Compliance, Security & Safety Standards, Immigration-related activities, and administrative functions of the Dubai Branch. The role is accountable for ensuring efficient, secure, and compliant operational processes in line with Doha Bank policies, CBUAE regulations, and international banking standards. The job holder will provide strategic and operational leadership to optimize service delivery, enhance operational controls, drive technology-enabled efficiencies, and support business growth while maintaining the highest standards of risk management and customer experience. The incumbent will also ensure the effective management of Trade Finance operations, including Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Documentary Collections, and related transactions, while overseeing IT infrastructure, cybersecurity controls, digital transformation initiatives, and operational resilience.<br>Key Roles and Responsibilities<br>Strategic Leadership & Branch Operations Provide overall leadership and oversight of branch operational activities, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, regulatory compliance, and service excellence. Continuously monitor business, economic, regulatory, and competitive developments, providing recommendations and insights to senior management. Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the Bank's business objectives and growth plans. Ensure operational policies and procedures remain compliant with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Lead operational transformation initiatives to improve productivity, service quality, and cost efficiency. Drive operational excellence through continuous process improvement and automation initiatives.<br>Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management Ensure full compliance with CBUAE regulations, AML/CFT requirements, KYC standards, FATCA, CRS, and other applicable regulatory requirements. Monitor regulatory changes and implement necessary operational, technology, and procedural amendments. Maintain a strong internal control environment and ensure adherence to audit recommendations. Oversee operational risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation measures.<br>Technology & Digital Operations Lead branch technology operations, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security of IT systems and infrastructure. Oversee IT service delivery, incident management, problem resolution, and vendor management. Coordinate with Head Office Technology teams to implement technology upgrades and digital initiatives. Ensure cybersecurity controls, information security policies, and technology governance standards are effectively implemented. Monitor system performance and take proactive measures to minimize operational disruptions.<br>Financial Control & Reconciliation Oversee daily operational controls including: General Ledger reconciliation Nostro account reconciliation Suspense account monitoring Internal account balancing Cash and vault management Review branch financial reports, operational MIS, and exception reports.<br>People Management & Leadership Lead, develop, and mentor Operations, Trade Finance, Administration, Customer Service, and Technology teams. Assess organizational structure and workforce capabilities, recommending enhancements where required. Establish clear performance objectives and conduct regular performance reviews.<br>Educational Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business administration, Banking & Finance, Information Technology, Accounting, or related discipline from a recognized university. Preferred master's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration (MBA), Management, Information Technology, or a related field.<br>Experience Minimum 15-20 years of banking experience, with significant exposure to: Branch Operations, Trade Finance Operations, Banking Technology, Operational Risk, Customer Service Management, Regulatory Compliance Minimum 8-10 years in a senior management or leadership role. Strong understanding of UAE banking regulations and CBUAE requirements. Extensive experience in managing Trade Finance products and operations. Experience leading technology implementations, digital transformation, and process automation initiatives. Proven track record in managing large operational teams and complex banking environments.

The job holder will supervise the team in effective delivery of archiving activities and will ensure timely processing of remittance transactions; review system reports, perform daily and monthly reconciliations, with focus on delivering quality service and effective operational support for all internal and external customers.<br>Detailed Roles and Responsibilities:<br>Constantly update self on business, economic, and competitive scenario, and recommend adequate suggestions/insights to the reporting authority, as appropriate. Update self on the regulatory requirements/changes set by the Central Bank and other relevant government bodies, and, suggest/ make adequate changes in the section, including but not limited to staffing of employees, branch deliverables etc. Develop and maintain robust working relationships with internal/external stakeholders of Doha Bank to facilitate functional/ operational needs. Monitor and oversee the development of budget for the branch, monitor variations and direct budget compliance and related documentation, in line with internal guidelines. Represent Doha Bank at external events/meetings, as directed, to ensure optimization of branch operations/opportunities. Guide the team in ensuring that the best solutions are made use of, in troubleshooting /resolving issues and that alternatives are suggested in relation to transactions effected through the branch, in close coordination with the internal stakeholders, as applicable. Monitor/ review the sales/ operational progress effected through the branch team pertaining to various retail products, ensuring all performance standards are met by the branch in terms of the business targets, controls, compliance, and quality standards. Perform daily updating/ reporting of Branch reports against the various asset / liability product targets assigned to the branch, as applicable. Review/monitor the financial standing and profitability of respective portfolio of client accounts across various retail asset/ liability products to analyze performance and Suggest / implement suitable means to augment business earnings. Will need to analyze the team structure, capabilities of existing staff and suggest requisite changes as needed. Supervise direct reports in their day-to-day tasks and guide them in managing their performance by providing approp1-iate feedback and counseling.<br>Educational Qualifications: <br>Degree in Business Administration with specialization in Banking and Finance, and/or Sales and Marketing from a recognized university. Master’s degree in Management any other related discipline.<br>Experience: <br>15-20 years of total experience in financial services/banking industry, entailing responsibilities pertaining to the specific area of discipline. Experience in branch operations, customer service / supervision and control role with a with a strong understanding of the banking industry, and best practices Knowledge of CBUAE regulatory framework Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing AML / KYC and cash & cheque handling
