This position is applicable to civil, infrastructure, and oil &amp; gas construction projects.</p><br><p><strong>Key Accountabilities</strong></p><br><p><strong><u>Site Safety Management &amp; Compliance</u></strong></p><ul><li><p>Take an active role in site safety management and ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.</p></li><li><p>Monitor adherence to site safety rules by project teams, subcontractors, and vendors; issue warnings and stop work orders as required for non-compliance.</p></li><li><p>Conduct planned site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with statutory regulations (including ADPHC, ADOSH, DM Code, or other local requirements) and OSH policies.</p></li><li><p>Maintain site safety files, registers, and records, and submit monthly safety reports to the Project HSE Manager and Group HSE Office.</p></li><li><p>Identify problem areas and make necessary contingency arrangements to improve site safety performance.</p><br></li></ul><p><strong><u>Coordination, Communication &amp; Reporting</u></strong></p><ul><li><p>Work closely with safety representatives from supervising consultants, subcontractors, and vendors.</p></li><li><p>Communicate and report safety performance, observations, and issues to line management.</p></li><li><p>Attend scheduled and ad-hoc safety meetings.</p></li><li><p>Respond to workers' safety concerns and encourage suggestions to improve site safety.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with technical and non-technical personnel.</p><br></li></ul><p><strong><u>Risk Assessment, Investigation &amp; Emergency Response</u></strong></p><ul><li><p>Assist in investigating OHS-related accidents, injuries, occupational hazards, illnesses, and near-miss incidents, and recommend preventive measures.</p></li><li><p>Record, review, and comment on risk assessments and OHS method statements for hazardous site activities.</p></li><li><p>Conduct emergency drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of site emergency response plans.</p></li><li><p>Identify potential hazard areas and recommend preventive measures to the operations team.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate with the site medical team regarding medicine requirements and health-related matters.</p><br></li></ul><p><strong><u>Training &amp; Safety Promotion</u></strong></p><ul><li><p>Promote safety awareness by providing site induction training and safety briefings.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate in-house or external safety training programs for workers and supervisors.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate with logistics to recommend and monitor site security measures and report substandard acts for improvement.</p><br></li></ul><p><strong><u>Hazardous Materials &amp; Waste Management</u></strong></p><ul><li><p>Coordinate hazardous materials and waste management activities with logistics and sustainability team.</p></li><li><p>Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with approved procedures.</p></li></ul><p>Other Duties</p><ul><li><p>Perform all other duties as assigned, with the consent of the Group HSE Manager.</p></li></ul></div></section><section><p class="heading">Desired Candidate Profile</p><p class="paragraph"><br></p><p><strong>Education</strong></p><ul><li><p>Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in HSE, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.</p><br></li></ul><p><strong>Professional Certifications</strong></p><ul><li><p>NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health &amp; Safety (or NVQ Level 3 equivalent) - mandatory.</p></li><li><p>ISO 45001 Lead Auditor qualification - mandatory.</p></li><li><p>OSHA 10-30 Hours General Industry Safety and Health Program and/or other HSE-related training preferred.</p><br></li></ul><p><strong>Experience</strong></p><ul><li><p>Minimum 5 years of relevant HSE experience in engineering, construction, or infrastructure projects.</p><p>Abu Dhabi Requirement:</p></li><li><p>Safety Officers working in Abu Dhabi must have successfully completed the Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health (ADOSH) Practitioners Course and hold Grade B or higher registration.</p></li></ul><p></p></section>
