Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Procurement and Supply Chain Manager to oversee sourcing, vendor development, purchasing, supply chain, and international logistics for our operations supporting customers and projects across West Africa.<br>The successful candidate will be responsible for developing international suppliers, negotiating competitive commercial agreements, managing purchase orders, coordinating shipments, and ensuring timely delivery. The role requires strong commercial judgment, supplier management experience, and the ability to independently manage multiple requirements within strict deadlines.<br>Key Responsibilities Manage the complete procurement cycle from sourcing and supplier selection through negotiation, purchase order placement, expediting, shipment, and delivery. Identify, evaluate, and develop manufacturers, OEMs, distributors, fabricators, and specialist suppliers internationally. Review technical specifications, data sheets, drawings, bills of quantities, and customer requirements before obtaining quotations. Lead negotiations covering pricing, discounts, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, freight, distributorships, and long term agreements. Prepare commercial comparisons and evaluate total landed costs, lead times, supplier risks, and commercial terms. Issue accurate purchase orders and monitor production, inspection, packing, documentation, and delivery schedules. Coordinate international logistics into West Africa with freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, customs agents, and local operations teams. Review shipping and commercial documents, including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading, and airway bills. Manage supplier performance and resolve pricing, quality, delivery, documentation, and warranty issues. Develop alternative suppliers to improve pricing, availability, delivery periods, and supply continuity. Coordinate with sales, finance, service, and operations teams to prioritize requirements and meet customer commitments. Maintain supplier records, procurement reports, contracts, quotations, and purchase order status updates through ERP systems and Microsoft Excel. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Procurement, Logistics, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related discipline. A technical qualification will be preferred but is not mandatory. Professional certification such as CIPS, MCIPS, CPSM, CSCP, or an equivalent qualification will be an advantage. Minimum 15 to 20 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor development, supply chain, or international logistics. Extensive procurement experience within the Middle East and or Africa is required. Experience supporting operations and projects across West Africa will be strongly preferred. Strong experience sourcing technical, industrial, and project related requirements. Proven experience in international vendor development, commercial negotiations, freight, shipping documentation, and customs clearance. Previous experience in mining, oil and gas, power generation, cement, EPC, manufacturing, or other industrial sectors will be preferred. Excellent written and spoken English, strong negotiation skills, and willingness to travel internationally when required.
