<p>Our Multi National Design & Supervision Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join their team in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Senior Planning Engineer on new build commercial, hospitality and residential projects in the UAE and ideally have worked for a recognised design or engineering consultancy company previously,
This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 6 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.
Key Responsibilities:
• The Senior Planner is responsible for developing, updating, and monitoring baseline project schedules, analyzing critical paths, and tracking progress to ensure timely delivery.
• Establish, update, and manage the integrated baseline Master Project Schedule (using Primavera P6) in alignment with contractual requirements.
• Track daily, weekly, and monthly site progress against the approved baseline, identifying variances and generating Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics.
• Continuously analyze the critical path and near-critical paths to forecast potential delays and recommend mitigation or catch-up plans to project management.
• Evaluate the contractor’s Extension of Time (EOT) submissions by performing forensic delay analyses (e.g., Time Impact Analysis, As Planned vs. As-Built).
• Monitor resource and equipment histograms to ensure optimal deployment and prepare executive project dashboards and monthly progress reports for the Client.
• Work closely with design, construction, and procurement teams to ensure a synchronized, coherent approach to scheduling across all phases of the project.

• Change Management: Evaluate any proposed changes to the project scope and assess their impact on the schedule, cost, and resource requirements.

The Project Engineer will oversee steel structure erection activities, including reviewing drawings, coordinating with fabrication teams, and planning site execution schedules. Responsibilities include supervising site installation crews, monitoring progress against project timelines, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and resolving technical issues arising during erection. The role involves coordinating with clients, consultants, and subcontractors, preparing daily and weekly reports, and supporting inspections and approvals. The Project Engineer will also assist with material planning, resource allocation, risk identification, and implementation of corrective actions to keep projects on track.<br>Qualifications<br> Candidates should possess strong Project Engineering and Project Planning skills, particularly in steel structure erection and site execution. Candidates should possess effective Project Management skills, including scheduling, resource coordination, and progress reporting. Candidates should possess clear and professional Communication skills for interaction with clients, consultants, site teams, and internal stakeholders. Candidates should possess a solid foundation in engineering principles; Electrical Engineering or related discipline is beneficial, especially for interfaces with MEP and related services. Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or related Engineering field (or equivalent practical experience in structural steel projects). Experience in steel structure erection, construction, or heavy industrial projects within the UAE or GCC is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of construction safety standards, quality control procedures, and site documentation practices. Proficiency with engineering drawings, erection schemes, and basic project software (e.g., MS Office, scheduling tools); familiarity with CAD or modeling software is an advantage. Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
