<section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles & Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><p>Responds to the medical emergency calls, drives to the scene and provides basic life support to the victims before they are transported to the hospital. </p><br><p>Evaluates the nature and extent of illness/injury to determine the right course of actions. Conduct patient assessment, including interpretation of ECG.</p><br><p>Provides medical aid such as AED, CPR, prevents spinal damage, ventilation, control severe bleeding; prevent shock, bandaging wounds, etc., to stabilize their condition. </p><br><p>Administration of activated charcoal, oral glucose and oxygen. </p><br><p>Constantly assesses the patient enroute to the emergency facility, administers additional care as indicated or directed by medical control. </p><br><p>Maintains vehicles and medical and communication equipment, and replenishes first-aid equipment and supplies. </p><br><p>Restocks all supplies in the ambulance and replace used blankets, linens and other supplies. </p><br><p>Cleans all equipment following appropriate disinfecting protocols.</p><br><br><p>Continuously reassures the patient enroute to the emergency facility. </p><br><p>Assists all EMT paramedics in efficient advance life support care system. </p><br><p>Performs direct illness/injury assessment, provides basic emergency pre-hospital patient care to the ill and injured prior to and during ambulance transfer, and transfer of information to receiving facility. </p><br><p>Maintains operational and functional readiness of ambulance unit, medical and other equipment, to ensure continuum of emergency services. </p><br><p>Works closely with communications officers, field supervisors, emergency department and other hospital personnel, the police dep't., the fire dep't., and other individuals, to deliver basic emergency and non-emergency medical services to the general public. </p><br><p>Respond to calls from communications dispatcher, use appropriate radio communication skills, read GPS maps, drive the ambulance safely to and from the scene of injury or illness, use the most expeditious route, and observe traffic ordinances and regulation - with the goal to locate the patient needing EMS services in the shortest response time possible. </p><br><p>Assists in lifting, carrying, transporting patient to ambulance and on to a medical facility, reassuring patients and bystanders, avoiding mishandling patient and undue haste, and to provide additional emergency care following established protocols. </p><br><p>Follow established departmental policies, procedures and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards in the performance of duties. </p><br><p>Inspect and clean ambulance and equipments; to review and restock all medical equipment to ensure their completeness and operational readiness at all times, in consultation and collaboration with field supervisor, and in compliance with safety and infection control regulations and standards. </p><br><p>Conducts scene size-up.</p><br><p>Conduct primary and secondary patient examinations.</p><br><p>Take and record vital signs.</p><br><p>Utilize non-invasive diagnostic devices.</p><br><p>Properly use of oropharyngeal & nasopharyngeal airway devices.</p><br><p>Open and maintain airway by positioning the patient's head.</p><br><p>Provide CPR & rescue breathing for infant, children, and adults.</p><br><p>Provide care for soft tissue injuries and control bleeding through direct pressure.</p><br><p>Provide care for suspected fractures.</p><br><p>Immobilization using spinal board, cervical collar, and splints.</p><br><p>Assist with pre-hospital childbirth.</p><br><p>Calm down the victim’s family members.</p><br><p>Ventilate with a non-invasive positive pressure delivery device.</p><br><p>Provide care for suspected shock, including the use of pneumatic anti-shock garment.</p><br><p>Obtain capillary blood specimen for blood glucose monitoring.</p><br><p>Administer epinephrine by subcutaneous injection or automatic injection device for anaphylaxis.</p><br><p>Administer aspirin for suspected myocardial infarction.</p><br><p>Operate bag valve mask device with reservoir.</p><br><p>Perform cardiac defibrillation with an automatic external defibrillator.</p></div></section><section><p class="heading">Desired Candidate Profile</p><p class="paragraph"></p><ol><li><p>A graduate of internationally recognized EMT – Basic course or equivalent with minimum 4 weeks duration and valid BLS Certification.</p></li></ol><br><ol><li><p>At least two (2) years of experience.</p></li></ol><br><ol><li><p>Currently licensed in country of origin and with DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE. </p></li></ol><br><ol><li><p>Fluent in spoken & written English, Arabic language is desirable, but not essential.</p></li></ol><p></p></section>

Closing Date<br><br>Number of positions: 1<br><br>Recruiter name: Ruba Hijah<br><br>Reference number: 71278<br><br>Mediclinic City Hospital | Dubai | United Arab Emirates<br><br>MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB<br><br>To perform routine laboratory tests in accordance with professional and regulatory standards and guidelines<br><br>KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS<br><br>Perform routine tests according to professional standards and guidelines<br><br>Monitor sample management, including sorting and allocation based on testing requirements<br><br>Process clinical chemistry, immunology and serology, autoimmune, haematology, coagulation, blood transfusion and clinical microscopy tests and related laboratory functions<br><br>Conducts analysis of body fluids, blood specimens, urine and spinal fluid<br><br>Result analysis and verification of accuracy of findings<br><br>Contribute to relevant quality improvement initiatives aimed at mitigating risks, compliance governance and increased patient safety<br><br>Actively contribute and guide, where needed, relevant training and health and safety initiatives<br><br>Operate, calibrate, and monitor effective functioning of standard laboratory equipment that includes analysers and maintenance of temperature logs<br><br>Required Education<br><br>A relevant Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory sciences or a related field<br><br>Required Experience<br><br>At least 3-5 years' full time experience as a medical laboratory technologist in clinical chemistry<br><br>Required Job Skills And Knowledge<br><br>Correct maintenance of instrumentation according to manufacturer's guidelines Developing standard operating procedures Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office) Knowledge of real time multiplex PCR and close molecular systems Knowledgeable in laboratory equipment and testing to perform quality control checks and instrumentation troubleshooting Laboratory information systems and reporting<br><br>All applicants will be considered, with the understanding that preference will be given to the designated groups in accordance with the United Arab Emirates Emiratization Program.
