These projects range from deploying and refining standardised, high-performance designs for global clients to delivering fully bespoke, cutting-edge facilities that set new benchmarks for innovation, resilience, and sustainability.<br><br>You will play a central role in influencing future data centre design approaches, working closely with clients, multidisciplinary teams, and industry experts to deliver efficient, sustainable, and commercially viable engineering solutions that meet the rapidly evolving demands of AI-driven infrastructure.<br><br>Key Responsibilities<br><br> Lead the electrical design for mission critical facilities, covering all aspects including medium and low voltage power distribution, UPS systems, standby generation, lighting, earthing, and lightning protection. Drive technical excellence by producing high-quality designs, specifications, reports, and calculations in accordance with client requirements, local regulations, and international standards. Conduct load assessments, redundancy strategy planning, fault/discrimination studies, and resilience planning for high-availability facilities. Coordinate with mechanical, structural, ICT, security, and other disciplines to ensure integrated, clash-free, and optimised designs. Provide technical leadership and mentoring, supporting the growth of less experienced engineers and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Oversee project budgets, deliverables, and programmes, ensuring compliance with contractual and quality requirements. Maintain direct client engagement, presenting solutions, managing expectations, and offering proactive technical input during all project phases. Contribute to the development, adaptation, and improvement of client standard reference designs, as well as the design of bespoke facilities. Champion innovation, integrating energy efficiency, sustainability, and emerging technologies into design strategies. <br><br>Experience & Qualifications<br><br> Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree or Chartered Engineer status preferred). Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience, with at least 3 years in mission critical and/or data centre projects. Proven expertise in MV/LV distribution systems, UPS and generator systems, and advanced redundancy schemes. Strong understanding of cooling integration, ICT systems, and commissioning processes specific to high-availability environments. Familiarity with hyperscale and AI data centre design considerations is highly desirable. Proficiency in ETAP, Amtech, Auto CAD, Revit, and other relevant design tools. Track record of producing detailed designs including schematic diagrams, fault and discrimination studies, technical reports, and specifications. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. Qualifications and Experience Requirements The ideal candidate should possess a degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. Candidates with additional technical certifications or specialized training relevant to construction, civil works, power plant operations, or substation projects will have an added advantage.<br><br>Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, preferably gained in civil engineering projects, power plants, or electrical substations. Experience in Gulf countries and/or India is highly desirable, as it demonstrates familiarity with regional standards, practices, and regulatory requirements. Exposure to diverse project environments and multicultural teams will be beneficial.<br><br>Technical Skills And Project Experience<br><br>The candidate should have hands-on experience in executing engineering projects, particularly in construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities. They should be well-versed in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.<br><br>Practical knowledge and experience in the following areas are essential:<br><br>Quality Management Systems (QMS): Ensuring project activities comply with established quality standards and procedures. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Implementing HSE policies, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a safe work culture. Risk Management: Identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle. Subcontractor Management: Coordinating with subcontractors, monitoring progress, and ensuring contractual compliance. Project Execution and Monitoring: Tracking project progress, managing resources, and ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.<br><br>Experience in power plants and substations, including electrical installation, cable laying, transformer erection, switchgear installation, and testing, will be highly preferred.<br><br>Leadership and Supervisory Responsibilities<br><br>The role requires candidates with proven management and supervisory experience. Team Leadership: Guiding and motivating site engineers, technicians, and workers to maintain productivity and quality standards. Resource Allocation: Efficient utilization of manpower, materials, and equipment. Progress Monitoring: Tracking milestones, preparing progress reports, and identifying delays or bottlenecks. JOB SUMMARY:Minimum of 4 to 15 years of experience in Design and Engineering of GIS and AIS Substations projects for voltage level of 66 KV and above up to 765 KV. Key Accountabilities:Pre-Bid:· Carrying out HV/ EHV substation design and drawings for both AIS and GIS substations<br>Preparation of equipment specification, layout drawings and calculations (Short circuit force, Earthing, Direct lightning stroke protection, Conductor sizing, CT / CVT sizing, battery sizing etc.), sizing for the equipment designs and systems <br>BOQ preparation· Knowledge of standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI). Experience in substation designs from 66k V to 765k V<br>EHV substation designs, Switchyard layouts, Switchyard equipment designs experience is must.· Knowledge of Auto Cad software is must.· Knowledge of Software like ETAP, CDEGs etc. will be preferable.· Must be able to work independently for the jobs.· Person should possess good communication skills and able to discuss issues with customer / vendor Execution of Contract:<br>· Shall be able to prepare/guide the design team to be able to prepare the SLD, general arrangement drawings, electrical layout, sections, EKD, DSLP, Earthing Layout, cable trench layout, switch yard illumination, cable schedule, bill of materials (BOMs) etc. Should be well versed with various busbar schemes.· Should be able to review the equipment vendor’s drawings/documents. Should also be able to guide the design team to review the equipment vendor’s drawings.· Should be able to interface with control and protection requirements and knowledge of review of schemes is desirable.· Should be well versed with design calculation for Earthing design, Sag tension, DSLP, Short circuit forces, battery sizing calculation, equipment sizing etc.· Should be able to closely monitor the progress of work (both Projects as well as tender) of the design team. Should also ensure that the projects/tender deliverables are given on time, without delay.· Should be able to handle/monitor the draftspersons. The Assistant Resident Engineer ensures quality execution, regulatory compliance, and coordination across disciplines, with a strong focus on safety, risk management, and technical excellence. The position demands extensive experience in high-voltage systems, commissioning, and stakeholder engagement, especially within TRANSCO and ADNOC project environments.</span></span></p><br><span><span>Your role</span></span><ul><li><span>Supervise the works in such a way that the work is performed in proper sequence and required quality as per Contract Document.</span></li><li><span>Perform and approve all the site activities, carry out the day-to-day site inspection, attend all the pre-commissioning &amp; commissioning tests, alignments, etc. and issue site memos wherever required.</span></li><li><span>PRE for interdisciplinary coordination at site.</span></li><li><span>Monitor and report on the progress of work.</span></li><li><span>Supervise, guide &amp; cooperate with the inspectors to supervise the works in such a way that the work is performed in proper sequence and required quality as per Contract Document.</span></li><li><span>Ensure that the documentation for the completion of work activities listed in the Quality Control Plan/Inspection Test Plan is complete and all supporting documents to substantiate the completed works are attached with the Quality Control Records and the data filled in the Quality Control Records are correct.</span></li><li><span>Supervise/follow up the tests on site.</span></li><li><span>Co-operate with the Quantity Surveyor for review the Contractor monthly invoices.</span></li><li><span>Co-operate with the QA/QC Engineer to ensure that the work is carried out to the agreed QC level and recorded in the appropriate QC forms/documents.</span></li><li><span>Ensure that practicable measures are taken through Contractor HSE team to protect and promote the Health, Safety and Environment.</span></li><li><span>For any commissioning activities, direct contact to be maintained to TRANSCOPE&amp;C Department with information to TRANSCO Project Engineer and having proper liaison with PRE &amp; RE.</span></li><li><span>Must have complete knowledge of the work packages and responsibility assigned to him.</span></li><li><span>Must be aware of the construction schedule and ensure timely completion of the work on schedule.</span></li><li><span>Responsible for verifying the implementation of risk responses and identifying new risk at the site.</span></li></ul><span><span>About you</span></span><p><span><span><b>Qualifications</b></span></span></p><br><ul><li><span>Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (BE) or equivalent in Engineering from recognized University. Candidates with minimum Three (3) years of Diploma in Electrical or Electronics &amp; Communication Engineering from recognized Institute with good and relevant experience in the similar projects will also be considered. His degree should be certified by Ministry of Higher Education before he gets the job.</span></li></ul><p><span><span><b>Minimum Experience</b></span></span></p><br><ul><li><span>7+ Years of experience in the relevant field for Engineering Degree Holders and nine (9) years for the Diploma Holders, preferred with a consultant. Join us.<br> <br>Job Description<br> Review the Electrical Shop drawings, material submittals, pre-qualifications, and technical calculations alongside method statements, ITPs, and Quality Checklists for acceptance. Ensure that the quality of all Electrical works carried out at the project site is as per the client's requirements and in compliance with the project quality plan (QPP) & Inspection Test Plan (ITP). Overseeing the construction process using technical expertise and management skills. Conduct all required FATs and SATs per applicable standards and manufacturer’s instructions. Conduct the Testing and Commissioning phase in line with the project specification manufacturer’s instructions. Monitor and control the day-to-day activities of the Electrical Engineers & inspectors i.e., site work inspection as well as inspection of the materials delivered in the Contractor’s store. Issuing Site Observation & Potential NCR when the specification or procedural requirements are not met/violating the compliance of the requirements with Project Technical requirements. Check documentation complies with design criteria, IFC, Shop Drawings /Client/ and standards. Attending weekly quality meetings with the construction team, raising the site quality issues, trying to mitigate them, and warning the hazard to overcome the quality issues. Pushing the contractor to close the open WIR, MIR, and site observation by taking corrective action. Drawing review and advice RA/ PM on the constructability. Meet with the Client and contractor where required and attend site visits to clarify ambiguities and queries to facilitate a smooth construction process. Provide directions to the site construction supervision team on plans, procedures, and priorities so efforts of Construction. Resolve any technical problem faced during the project construction stages. <br>Qualifications<br> Minimum 15 years demonstrable experience in the all aspects of supervision and project administration related to large-scale projects within Middle East in the consulting industry. Note that the research involves significant interactions with collaborators in material science. Perform survey work under the direction and guidance of the Resident Engineer. Develops new data from photogrammetric records. Establish primary horizontal and vertical control points including reference ties for re-establishing the points in the field. Record all measurements, rod readings and calculations neatly and accurately in field books as the work progresses. Verify the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites. Coordinate with the Contractor’s surveyor on work priorities and schedules. Check all work by completing traverse closures and bench circuits. Report discrepancies or technical problems to the team leader. Perform joint measurements of the completed work or payment. Check completed work for conformance to the line and grade required by the project plans in coordination with the Inspector assigned to the item of work. Perform regular checks of the Contractor’s setting out to verify proper execution and accuracy. Maintain equipment in proper condition and perform frequent calibration checks. Keeps accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed. Coordinates findings with work of engineering and architectural personnel, clients, and others related to the project. Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of terrain. Prepare or supervise preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed.
