<section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles &amp; Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><ul><li><p>Key Responsibilities</p><br><p>Financial Accounting &amp; Reporting</p><ul><li><p>Maintain accurate accounting records and general ledger entries.</p></li><li><p>Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.</p></li><li><p>Handle accounts payable and receivable processes.</p></li><li><p>Perform bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring.</p></li><li><p>Prepare profit &amp; loss statements and balance sheets.</p></li></ul><br><p>Retail &amp; Hypermarket Accounting</p><ul><li><p>Monitor daily sales reconciliation from POS systems.</p></li><li><p>Verify cash, card payment settlements.</p></li><li><p>Reconcile branch-wise sales and collections.</p></li><li><p>Track promotional discounts, rebates, and supplier support income.</p></li><li><p>Monitor shrinkage, wastage, and stock variances.</p></li></ul><br><p>Intercompany Reconciliation &amp; Group Accounting</p><ul><li><p>Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations between group entities and branches.</p></li><li><p>Reconcile intercompany balances, transactions, and ledger discrepancies.</p></li><li><p>Prepare intercompany debit/credit notes and adjustment entries.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate with finance teams across multiple entities to resolve variances.</p></li><li><p>Ensure timely elimination entries and proper supporting documentation.</p></li><li><p>Assist in consolidated financial reporting for group companies.</p></li></ul><br><p>Inventory &amp; FMCG Operations</p><ul><li><p>Manage inventory accounting for fast-moving consumer goods.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate with warehouse and store operations teams.</p></li><li><p>Conduct stock audits and physical inventory verification.</p></li><li><p>Analyze stock aging, expiry, and damaged goods.</p></li><li><p>Ensure accurate costing and inventory valuation.</p></li></ul><br><p>Supplier &amp; Vendor Management</p><ul><li><p>Reconcile supplier statements and payment schedules.</p></li><li><p>Verify promotional claims, and rebates.</p></li><li><p>Process supplier invoices and credit notes.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate with procurement and category teams.</p></li></ul><br><p>VAT &amp; Compliance</p><ul><li><p>Prepare and file UAE VAT returns.</p></li><li><p>Ensure compliance with UAE accounting and tax regulations.</p></li><li><p>Support internal and external audits.</p></li><li><p>Maintain proper documentation and financial controls.</p></li></ul><br><p>ERP &amp; System Management</p><ul><li><p>Operate retail ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics etc.</p></li><li><p>Generate MIS and financial analysis reports.</p></li><li><p>Support automation and process improvement initiatives.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>Education</strong></p><ul><li><p>Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.</p></li><li><p>ACCA, CMA, CPA preferred.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Experience</strong></p><ul><li><p>3–7 years of accounting experience in FMCG retail or hypermarket industry.</p></li><li><p>Mandatory UAE experience in supermarket/hypermarket operations.</p></li><li><p>Experience handling high-volume retail transactions.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Skills</strong></p><ul><li><p>Strong knowledge of retail accounting principles.</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with UAE VAT &amp; Corporate tax regulations.</p></li><li><p>Advanced Excel and reporting skills.</p></li><li><p>Good analytical and reconciliation abilities.</p></li><li><p>Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.</p></li><li><p>Strong communication and coordination skills.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Industry Experience</strong></p><p>Candidates with experience in:</p><ul><li><p>Hypermarkets</p></li><li><p>Supermarkets</p></li><li><p>FMCG distribution</p></li><li><p>Retail chains</p></li><li><p>Wholesale cash &amp; carry operations</p></li></ul><br><p>Experience with major retail groups in United Arab Emirates is an advantage.</p></li></ul></div></section><section><p class="heading">Desired Candidate Profile</p><p class="paragraph"></p><ul><li><p>We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with strong exposure to the FMCG retail and UAE hypermarket sector.
